Red Bull RB6

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Looks like before to me.

New Rear wing,
the f-duct blows now the lower main plane,
+
this 12cm blown slot, which makes it a effektiv 3 element wing,
which they had only with that none f-duct wing they used in monaco and hungary

F-duct looks pretty much the same. It always used to blow the lower plane. See pics starting on page 77 of this thd.

Thanks marcush for clarifying. :)
For a sec. I thought it might be an FIA device to check front wing flex.

from my point of view they used to blow the flap, even at the last gp in monza just the flap was blown..

however the combination of f-duct and 12cm blown slot is definitly new

Apparently the Red Bull 'bib' has bumps and notches on it unlike all the other teams which have a smooth surface.

Anyone able to get some pictures?

So much for Martin Whitmarsh's assertion that the new flex tests would bring Red Bull's pace back within Macca's reach.

Looks like it. Scarbs has an article on the new floor tests, but as with the discussion in the flexi wing thread I don't think there was much going on there where Red Bull was concerned. Every team will have had to modify their floors to an extent.

Have to wait until qualifying though.

I noticed those bumps on the new bib and floor. Will try and get pictures later.

Not the best quality pictures, but still a very remarkable design:

It kinda begs the question: can it beneficial to create turbulance just above the t-tray?

Hi JMN,

Do you have these pictures in a raw un-cropped form?

As they are, they're of various sizes making any analisys of whether the bib is moving quite difficult.

Cheers
