That is impressive, just shows how rubbish Senna etc are! I wish Bruno was half the talent Ayrton was but such is life.

D'Ambrosio is another one quicker than usual drivers. He beat Glock's Qually time by 0.5s. And we know quality of Glock, so comparing the times to respective qualifying laps is probably not a reliable benchmark.

Doesn't the track have a lot more rubber on it since qualifying? And are they using fresh engines?

We also have to see that in Qualysessions no changes to the car apart from tyre pressure settings are allowed...plus the setup has to cater for the full fuelloads.so a out and out setup optimised for low fuelloads can be considerably lower ..so a rideheight sesitive car should be able to gain more than something that is coping very well with rideheight differences..?
From where should HRT get fresh engines....but then they did hundred laps on one day... with the Xtrac hydraulics...They accumulate a lot of mileage after the season...

Thanks djos. Are they running same tires as the race? I think they ran super soft and medium compounds?

Im not sure to be honest - i'd assume the same compounds as used for the race weekend.

btw: The Pirelli test starts on the Friday the 19th.

Gaining data for the new adjustable rear wing? Are Renault even running a early version of the wing or just removed the rear plane

Renault have been doing Aero testing with flow viz according to Scarbs and it looks like they removed the top wing for testing reasons.

According to RedBullF1Spy Dan is running Webber's Winning Chassis from Hungary.

Or maybe they're testing a new invisibility paint so people don't notice when they put on a 3rd element on their RW and FW

Today's times should have been already out right? Heard Ricciardo was back on top

Could the missing RW element be simulating the DF lost from the DDD ban?

Possibly a base line test with just the mainplane..cannot see a F duct in this picture.
Guessing someone wanted to gather real world data for calibrating their rolling road Wind tunnel they installed this year...so why not a few runs??

I think better results would give closing second deck inlets in the floor. I guess, they're simulating what would happen if something goes wrong with movable RW (eg. it stucks in low DF position). Or maybe they're just trying to estimate gains from using movable RW?
