will the mandatory static weight distribution help him at all?

I very much doubt it. It will probably hurt him even more badly because they won't be able to move ballast and change the weight distribution to mitigate the problem. But then, I'm still hazy as to how that weight distribution thing will actually be applied. Nevertheless, Webber's physique is still a problem. He's actually done well at times this season to overcome it.

I never understood something. Torro Rosso is the RBR "B-team," and still very much so. Would it be possible to have the RBR reserve driver actually be a Toro Rosso driver? Then Toro Rosso has a reserve driver? I would've thought that RBR would be much happier looking for a known quantity in Buemi/Alguersuari rather than a new unknown quantity

So let's see. Right now, drivers and numbers, we have:

Red Bull Racing - Renault
1. Sebastian Vettel
2. Mark Webber (I can't wait to hear the "Not bad for a number 2 driver" jokes in conjuction with his car number  lol)

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes
3. Lewis Hamilton
4. Jenson Button

Ferrari
5. Fernando Alonso
6. Felipe Massa

Mercedes
7. Nico Rosberg
8. Michael Schumacher

Renault
9. Robert Kubica
10.

Williams-Cosworth
11. Rubens Barrichello
12.

Force India - Mercedes
13.
14.

Sauber - Ferrari
15. Kamui Kobayashi
16. Sergio Pérez

Toro Rosso - Ferrari
17. Sebastian Buemi
18. Jaime Alguersuari

Lotus-Cosworth
19.
20.

HRT-Cosworth
21.
22.

Marussia Virgin-Cosworth
23. Timo Glock
24.

Am I correct? Some teams would probably still disappear/have name changes, mind you.

It would be fairer to have a standardised driver weight, the lighter drivers would have ballast in the seat back. For simplicity the ballast weight would be fixed at the start of the season.

..... of course fairness has little to do with F1, its about survival of the fittest.

Yep.
It goes 14-15; 16-17 i.e. even number is for first pilot.

Now how's this for a Silly Season rumour. Massa out, Hulkenberg in?

Seems extremely wild and silly!

And it looks like Petrov's chances of staying at Renault have improved. Good!

Why not? I think there will be a few twists and turns between now and January.

It's long been strongly rumoured that Massa is simply not comfortable at Ferrari and knows he cannot win, no matter what Ferrari say. Why bother driving for Ferrari if you can't win? Willi Weber Certainly has contacts at Ferrari.

I put that in the Hulkenberg post, apparently it's a rumor started by Willi Webber, Hulkenberg's manager, who was also manager to Shoe-maker, hence has some connections to Ferrari. Massa isn't leaving Ferrari any time soon, his family has ties to Shell and Santander in Brazil. He's protected.

Not yet. He is not bringing any sponsorship money apart from Mercedes discounts am i right?

Even i think FI may go for Hulk, may be further replacement of Shumi in 2012/2013.
