formula 1 2010 Game Review

Post

I have been playing the game ever since it came out and I have some things to point out what should have been done better or added.

- first thingis that there is no podium presentation and the player who is in
the podium, he then would be able to control the shampane and spray the other two drivers.

- there is no off season testing and it should be included next year.

- Computer AI could be improved for example a low/middle car made it to the points
and sometimes top cars are not in the top points.

- There is no car damage. Only front wing gets damaged and there is large amount
of tire punctures (I have never seen a tire puncture in a real race and it rarley happens)so I had to turn of the damage because punctures became frustrating.

- Only the human user gets penalties and not computer AI. I have seen the computer AI hitting another oponent or getting all four wheels off and never got a penalty or warning.

I hope Codemasters will make these changes for next year's game but they did an excellent job on the car and layout of the race tracks.

I rather codemasters not make the next game.

Polyphony digital should make it, or EA.

Not to bash english game makers, but Americans and Japanese do a better job.
For Sure!!

Codemasters have a long term contract with F1 and it is the only company
that is currently producing the game.

Well, if you want Polyphony to make it, you do know that the next game will be F1 2020, right?
But my choice would be an EA/ISI game, like the previous EA Sports F1 series. An F1 2011 or 2012 based on rFactor 2 would be awesome :D Too bad (or maybe not, I actually like F1 2010) that Codemasters have got the license for now.

Having bought the game yesterday for the Xbox, I have to say as a pick up and play game its not to bad. My only issue is the brakes, It does not feel like you have them on when you press the button. Other than that is it good, The weather is great, Trying to string a lap together around Oz in the Rain in a Lotus was great fun!

I personaly would rather have my fingers chopped off than EA having anything to do with its future devlopment, All they do is make the graphics better take away good feature then a them back in again in later version of the game as "new features" and they will had lots of unneeded fluff.

Get SinBin in to do it, GTR was a great Sim.
I believe in the chain of command, Its the chain I use to beat you till you do what i want!!!

Do you only get tire punctures? Or AI cars too?

If thats the case it can be that you are mistreating tyres. Do they puncture when they are new or anytime? Do you have a way to monitor tyre temps or wear?

Belatti I always have a smooth race and take care of my tyres very well.
Tyre puncture also happens for no reason and esspecially during a race.

How often do these tyre punctures occur in real F1 races?

Not too often. Maybe a couple of times a year for the entire field? I really dont know...

In the PS2 F1 2006 video game the tyre wear was highly influenced by suspension setup and TC presets. Altough you never have punctures

That's true and in 2006 formula 1 game there were never tyre punctures.
2006 F1 game is a little better than 2010 game.
I think tyre punctures is a glitch in the game.
