Mercedes GP W02

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

IF it is the W02, the nose looks pretty high.

Conventional airbox, toyota 2010 style nose and there is something really funky going on around the sidepod openings!

Doesn't seem that they ditched the crooked nose after all. I always suspected there was a good reason behind it.

Too bad they droped their blade roll structure, it was my favorite 2010 feature!

The nose in this last picture hints a v-nose to me...

The livery around the driver seems to be chromed! I hope so!

Still no mirrors... Perhaps they will use cameras in the back og the car and a LCD screen on the cockpit?

The sidepods looks more funky than I think they really are because of the sidepod shield blocking our view. But look how abruptly the sidepod ends toward the side of the car. Maybe it is open and we will see exposed radiators? :o

Can anyone add some white fade to the image? That can give us some idea?

Cheeky of Mercedes to release this on the eve of the F150 launch
My minds eye is telling me it looks far better than the awkward W01.

*EDIT
I see C93 has tried that...

Looks a bit Williamsy at the front no?
More could have been done.

For interests sake, I wonder how much other teams pay attention to such teasers...

I reckon Mclaren and Ferrari will have taken the image..fed it into their super computer and had a full scale model in the wind tunnel 15 minutes after this news broke

Is that a low nose?

That doesnt matter at all, imo the proportions are off, The rear end plate seems to be turned compared to the airbox in front. Plus the tires are off too, Blurred or not, that doenst change that.

Looks lower than the other teams last year, but higher than the W01 to me.

Wesley I would say you are looking at the W02.

But then I did say that about the last one.

Look at the detailing around the sidepods...if anyone can get a close up it looks like Mercedes have rearview mirrors that arent attached in the normal fashion.
More could have been done.
