Ferrari 150° Italia

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

costa did say that they'll put much effort into solving eventual problems and improving mechanical parts of the car,so... put a 2011 front wing on it and that's it!
but not for the 1st test... they said they'll run the 2010 spec front wing on the car...

but id does look nice on the track!

Interesting. Those red stripes were not visible in any of the previous indoor shots were they?

I really like what they've done with the beam wing. I was looking at a similar idea in a CAD model I'm building, but sans any central support pillars for the rear wing. That is, support both the upper wing and beam wing through the endplates only and subsequently supporting the endplates only through a thickened & reinforced floor/diffuser section. In the same vein, I wonder what prevented them from going with a swan's neck type central support pillar.

Hehe, and I heard there was a tuned microphone mounted on the side of the cockpit tuned to the word "REEEDEECULOOOS" which via Telemetry ensures that Felipe is slower than you, no need for any more "can you confirm that you understood that message"!

Perhaps that explains the high-tensile steel cables which are apparently suspending the floor from the gearbox? Perhaps the endplates exert all their forces onto the floor, and that force needed to be transferred more directly to the gearbox??

After following the link above, I eventually found a gallery which contained this image.

The exhaust layout in this image looks almost RB6-esque to me. It's wierd how different lighting can distract!

So with a simple bit of maths, we can asume it was 33 laps today and will be another 33 tomorrow???

I agree with Alonso looking very high up. Im guessing its just down to it being the shakedown, he cant be comfortable after always sitting nice and low.

This is a new pic that for me shows a new angle of the rear. It looks quite tidy back there, quite impressive. Saying that the tight rear has resulted in those chunky sides...will enough air actually get to that tight rear!?

It it just me or does anyone else think the Pirelli logo just looks wrong the way they've done it - it should be curved to follow the contour of the tyre.
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Got to say I laughed out loud at Autosport's summary of what the new cars would be like. "Ferrari will have pull rod rear suspension", "Ferrari will have a low nose" etc.

Oh so wrong all round...
