Lotus T128 Gearbox. it seems this is an RB5 gearbox used for the start up. http://yfrog.com/h37rnqdj

Thx for these photos. The radiators look more undercut, less rectangular/more triangular than T127 radiators. RS27 8)

Box cover is completely different in that photo that at the fire-up. Looks like casted aluminum or titanium.

I think I am talking nonsense. I can't actually see the box, can I?

I think the linked photo in the quote is the new car, the pic above is the 2010 car.

News from today: "In other news, Lotus stayed on at Valencia and got in some positive running. Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen managed times in the high 1m15s, but at least they got in 90 odd laps." Garry Anderson on Autosport.com

Some more news from MTV3:

- The missing parts from the front suspension meant that they can't really set-up the car, the ride height and wheel angles (?) aren't correct.

- Center of gravity is much lower than last year, the chassis is smaller which makes it easier to use ballast.

- Hydraulics worked perfectly and no other technical problems.

- They only tried the harder compound today.

- They didn't use the movable rear wing.

All in all sounds like this test was more of shakedown.

Chandhok will test Team Lotus car - Tony Fernandes

Indian racer Karun Chandhok will test at two forthcoming F1 tests, Team Lotus boss Tony Fernandes confirmed on Sunday. Karun, the ex- HRT driver, was seen wearing a Team Lotus jacket at the opening pre-season test at Valencia last week, amid reports he is a frontrunner to occupy a reserve driver role in 2011.

"We would like him to be reserve driver but we've got to see whether it all works out, that's the plan," team owner Fernandes said from Malaysia after it was announced he has been appointed a Commander of the British Empire (CBE).

"He (Chandhok) is going to get a couple of slots in the testing now in Jerez and Barcelona," the millionaire told Reuters. "And then we'll decide after that.

"(Technical boss) Mike (Gascoyne) and (CEO) Riad (Asmat) and everyone else feel he's the right guy to add value to the team," added Fernandes.

if you compare to last season T127, there would be almost everything. roll hoop, side pods, rear suspension. all can be seen with naked eyes.

Yes I know that. But mycadcae quoted pictures and said he talked about new aero parts, leading me to believe that there were new parts than what was already tested at Valencia during days 2 and 3

Based on Mike Gascoyne (Twitter), the new front wing will be ready for Bahrain test.....since it is still in the wind tunnel...
