Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

I've been to a few MotoGP races here over the last few years, and the stadium complex is an awesome amphitheatre to watch. The bikers use the Criville turn and it has to be one of the most impressive high speed turns on their calender. It's a pity F1 use the Senna chicane instead. I doubt he would have appreciated that!

No action as Perez has stopped the Sauber on track and is being removed.

Do we have a closeup of that? I believe that is a frame for a pitot tube array that they're using to test air pressures in the diffuser.

EDIT :
Now the bigger pic has been uploaded, it seems that I was correct :D

No, they're just Hamilton's must-have chrome spinners. Gotta 'ave some more bling on that whip.

On a more serious note, how much of a realistic benefit do the wheel covers/extensions provide? Will it show in the lap times or just to increase the brake cooling efficiency over the course of the race?

I thought any such devices were banned under the new 2011 regs? How are McLaren even able to have something like this on the car?

F1 2011 Regulations Analyzed - F1Technical
No more shaped wheel spokes

After the static front wheel fairings that abounded in 2009, were banned and the wheel design homologated, there must have been some surprise that Ferrari managed to create an aerodynamic wheel shape in 2010. This is partly limited now by the restriction on surface area for spokes and shaping. The limited only allows 13% of the wheel centre to be spoked, meaning that a ten spoke wheel has to have spokes just 16mm wide.
“12.4.6 When viewed perpendicular to the plane formed by the outer face of the wheel and between the diameters of 120mm and 270mm the wheel may have an area of no greater than 24,000mm2.”
As far as I see it it's similar to the roll hoop that Mercedes had, but backwards. This season Lotus had to make it thicker and these shaped wheel spokes have to be smaller/thinner.
