Really? The ones one bottom are all distorted, whereas the top are crisp and bright. Viewing it in full res makes it a lot clearer.

F1sa.com has published that Hamilton was using FEE yesterday according to some reporters who spotted it.
F1sa.com wrote:Auto Motor und Sport's Jerez correspondent said McLaren's rear exiting conventional exhaust layout had mysteriously vanished when Hamilton exited the pits at Jerez on Thursday morning.

Instead, the exhausts are now exiting at the front of the sidepods, with the innovation only spotted by reporters when mechanics had to pause on one occasion whilst pushing Hamilton back into the garage after a run on Thursday.

"As with the Renault the detail is very difficult to photograph," confirmed the German report.
It seems that McLaren is testing different solutions.

Oki

It's meant to be this way. Most teams have a very basic/simple diffuser this year. That's they way it was meant to be in 2009, too

Can't see a problem with that at all....
:D Heh. You'll have to forgive these kinds of threads at times Scarbs.

No. What I mean is that it's more basic than any single diffuser I've seen this year from just about any team.

Is it me or is the front tire deforming at speed?

It's the rolling shutter effect, the car has moved forward a small amount by time the camera captures the bottom of the frame, making it seem skewed.

Methinks that camera lens was maybe not of the highest quality...

Possible FEE on the MP4-26.

Image

Anyone heard something about the "Distributed Resonance Diffuser".
There are some rumors in german forums.

Hey! Is this picture old or they have removed again those round elements from the rims?

They have been testing with and without the rim deflectors. Probably testing the effect it has on brake temperatures.

Here's another picture of the exhausts http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/wp-content/u ... 011_21.jpg

And here's one with fire to show the direction of them!
