To be honest I cannot think of a single reason why they would be routing exhaust gas to there along that kind of length.

The drivers sit so close to the ground surely an exhaust exiting at the splitter would have to be routed around the cockpit?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like they're running different exhaust set-ups at different times. In some images the exhaust exits are clearly visible at the back of the car; in others, it seems the exhausts curve back on themselves with no exit at the back...

That's they way it looks to me as well. They did say they would be testing 4 different exhaust layouts during the testing, so I guess this shouldn't be much of a surprise. Would really be interesting to see a thermal image of the car, even though that may be a bit of wishful thinking from an observing engineer

If they had front exit exhausts, they could do a F-duct-like control, with a "T" in the pipe leading into the cockpit, when the driver needs extra downfroce he puts his hand over the pipe and it re-directs to the front exit and hey presto, instant downnforce...! Can't see a problem with that at all....

Good thinking! I found a picture of Mclarens new driving suits. Theyre the same color as the car!

About the subject. Well, FEE or not, it's clear now that McLaren have more than one exhaust solution. I hope they have the FEE too just to give us something to cheer about

Is it only me, or does the diffuser on Button's car look different? Maybe they using the FEE today?
