HRT F111 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Will the F111 be at the Barcelona test?

No F111 at Barcelona. HRT will present their car a day before the start of the Bahrain test, and run it there for the first time. Might be painful if it proves unreliable ;)

At least some progress compared to last season.

Will they be allowed to buy a 2009 car from one of the existing teams?

Pretty logic that they run the test there. They have to be there for the race already. But I doubt that it will be a good race for them, even after the test. They might struggle if there are problems with the car. No time to make solutions for it, and no time in the factory to make it and transport it in time.

Something tells me that this will be another weak performance, this whole year.

But yes, at least they will test, which makes it an improvement to last year, were the first race was a testrun.

I think they can run an old car only if the team who sold the car is not running anymore. (like Toyota)

Why would Hispania want a 2009 car? they have developed there own car.

Anyone know why Hispania are at Monza? Any specific reason?

In other words: They get paid and they need the money. Can't see any other reason. See it as paid/free testing.

Unlikely, consideringthey are limited on mileage and can't run in full anger.

It's HRT, none of the other teams would even bat an eyelash if they run 2000 miles..

Pirelli TV days, seemingly they spent 3 days there, and Hispania will be paying less for their Pirelli tyres for doing TV work for Pirelli. Also it gives Pirelli data for high speed as well, as Hispania could take the flap off and run the F110 like what the GP2/08s did in GP2 to reduce drag. Id not be surprised if they ditched Retifilio and run from Paribolica to Variante Della Roggia. It would be scary as F going arround Curva Grande at 310+ KMph.

Id love to know how many laps Hispania have done in the 3 days the spent at Monza.

Hispania i think will take a leap forward with the F111, its looking as if Virgin and Team Lotus have gained some of the 1-2.5 seconds to the established runners. Lets face it, the people building their car have built race winning cars in the past in the STR-Ferarri STR3-03 that Vettel won in Monza.

ESP, Great Info!

Any more news on the 2nd Driver and Test Driver for Hispania?

Any anymore sponsors do you think will be on the car?

I personally think Hispania will be with Virgin at least and catch up to Team Lotus as long as they keep the development of the F111.

#2 driver and Test & Resterve driver. Nothing yet. Id recon that theyre will be an announcement this week as id want to have the #2 a couple of days in the F110 so they can get used to the Pirellis and his engineering team.

As for sponsors, nope, but id recon there will be a couple more, Virgin have left a few spaces blank and there are other teams that are looking a bit bare as well, Sauber/Williams/Toro Rosso/Team Lotus also spring to mind after looking at the testing pics in more detail the past hour.

I think this car will be better, but it will be a learning curve again, they will have the least engineered car on the grid to the others, and that in its self is up to a second to their nearest compeditor. But we will be able to see propper on FP1 at Bahrain. All we know is the F111 could be a bullet and be right on the money and be in Q2 and posibly in Q3. Remember the Brawn farytale.
