Well mindgames are part of the bread and butter of F1.

Both his Button AND Webber comments are laughable actually. Saying their slow.

Nico Rosberg?

Adrian Sutil?
Nico Rosberg?
Seb Vettel? Even beat Liuzzi in his half-year in Toro Rosso. Or was that Scott Speed?

Luca "bad ass" Badoer of course. Alonso ratings are on to low a scale, hence the lack of mention for Luca.

More work for the mods, eh ?
Last time I checked 108 = 108, and 4 = 4. (But maybe my math is old...) So technically, they both haven't beaten ALL their teammates...

:D
Save the excuses. I'm just poking fun at the "beaten all their teammates" comment.

108=108

but 2nd > 3rd

Look on it this way, Hamilton completely messes up the end of the season and Alonso still couldn't beat him. Hamilton's season was also of a better quality, finishing position wise. That's a clear loss to a teammate.

He was beaten and he admits Hamilton is the fastest in F1.

I don't think you can factor in "messes up the end of the season." That is part of the whole equation. If the other guy didn't mess up, that's to his credit, and not to his opponent's detriment. Consistency as the pressure builds towards the end is a quality.

Hamilton got 1 more 2nd place (If I remember correctly) BUT that means Alonso had two more 5th places than Hamilton. Or whatever it was. Hamilton equalled Alonso. Fact is, they're on a tied 2nd place, despite what the standings say. The counback, AFAIK, was meant to distinguish the champ from 2nd place. Not for other positions.

As for the Badoer comment, I don't understand why he should come in to this discussion at all? :? He's talking about the potential frontrunners and championship rivals.

Yes we all know Hamilton is best thing since sliced bread. Can we move on now?

Interesting that he talks of Mark as consistent, but not Jenson... I would've thought Jenson was more so. Maybe he feels Jenson is consistent, but too slow to be a threat? Consistent podiums is more of a threat than consistent points.

I think we're all reading way too much into these comments.

The translation regarding Hamilton is not even correct.. Here is the source:
http://www.as.com/motor/articulo/dicen- ... imot_1/Tes
Hamilton: Es un gran piloto y de los más rápidos de la actual parrilla de la Fórmula 1.
Translates to:
Hamilton: He is a great driver and among the fastest on the current Formula 1 grid.

But as usual I think everybody is just over analyzing a simple interview.. "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar"

Should've known better than to trust the press. lol. So it's actually "among the fastest" and not "THE fastest?"

Yes it is. Lotus beat HRT beat Virgin in the WCC on countback, and it decides official standings, garage position, broadcast profits slice etc.

So while it doesn't matter all that much, it remains a Fun Fact that LH officially beat the reigning champion in his rookie year. You can argue the circumstances but not the fact.

How come this thread isn't locked already ?

And why can't 'Alonso people' still accept the fact that Hamilton jumped in the car and beat Alonso. Think about Schumacher winning the title back to back 94-95, then moving to a new team and gets beaten by a rookie ?!? And that Schumacher had lost a head to head fight with Alonso just before Lewis had arrived at the scene; which makes his success all the more significant.

Shall I go on ?
