A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Maybe it was torn away, who knows what happened.
But those can't be batteries and teams still have fuel intake there.

Interesting. This is the second image I've seen today of a car running with bits missing above the sidepods. Here's the Mercedes image:

Granted, it's not in quite the same location, and it's probably a coincidence, but funny that it should happen on the same day.

Mercedes were also running their car like that in Jerez, as for the Williams, maybe the pit team forgot to replace the lid? bit of a long shot but could have happened

It could have been an installation lap or two. But remember that McLaren forgot to take out the sidepod inlet covers on Buttons car back in Monaco, so even if it's a long shot anything is possible. Humans are responsible for the car and we all make mistakes.

Williams tend to do this though. Run light to look impressive and then pitch-up camp in the mid-field come the races.

I think WIlliams will be near the podium though. Challenging for podiums. Maybe not regular podium finishers, but at least challenging for them.

this livery looks too dead.
The dark gothic emo thing doesn't work for something as lively as F1. You want to convey an energetic feeling.
I hope the car is bright blue gold red and white.
That would be stunning.
For Sure!!

something like that,
but more modern. If it's too retro it might come off as cheesy.
