Red Bull RB7 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Strange. I know it's only testing, but if they get thiere best times using the movable rear wing all on the track, they will be much slower in season as they can use it only for overtaking and only on the exact straight.

Or I'm wrong?

This quote was referring to earlier runs not to the race sim. During their race runs yesterday they used ARW only in the distance 1s from another car.

I'm sure that is the case, but source?

The Red Bull RB7 is using its moveable rear wing in places no other car can, for example in the middle of the fast corner heading onto the main straight.
A nice trick, but irrelvant to race performance.

The ARW is only allowed to be used a straight. So that could be why other teams aren't using it on bends.

But remember they can use it anywhere they want in Quali, so that means if they can use it on corners they'll have a speed advantage coming out of that corner. In theory at least.

but others could do it too for all we know, they just haven't been reported, seen or even done it yet.

its an early advantage though

For all we know Red Bull could be using the ARW earlier because their system is less effective at shedding drag. Until we see all the cars in Q1 we just won't know for sure.

They've added another high temperature panel near the "ll"s in Red Bull:

I can tell you right now that Red Bull is one of the few teams that takes care of their tyres exceptionally relative to the other teams.

Red Bull has the Qual speed. Ferrari has the race-pace. Nothing has really changed from last year in the Top 2.

The Red Bull is the fastest car on the grid. Many people that are watching from the grand stands says all car look a bit nervous etc but the Red Bull and Ferrari goes on rails.

I´m a bit shocked people haven´t recognised by now that the Red Bull is the dominant car.

Webber can say what he wants by being "cautious" etc. All the teams know the Red Bull is the car to beat atm.

And frankly the only team i see that really can make it difficult for them is Ferrari.

May I correct that. The Red Bull was arguably the fastest car on the grid last year. And Red Bull are the team to beat this year as they are reigning champions.

Please don't state supposed facts you can't possibly be sure about at this stage of the pre-season
