trouble for mclaren TWO ENGINES.

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Hence Montoya finishing fourth in what is supposed to be one of, if not the fastest chassis/engine combo according to many people. Raikkonen like Nico pushed his engine hard in Bahrain to finish third and because he got punted out on the first lap at Sepang, for all we know we could have missed his engine grenading on lap two!
I just don't buy it. What's Montoya's excuse for his results if the engine is so great, especially after he started to match Kimi convincingly last year.
No one is suggesting that the Mercedes is better than the Renault... one thing is sure: it's not as bad as the ridiculous Ferraris, just to name one, that with chassis designed by the multi-champion Ferrari technical team or Red Bull have finished in lower positions and blown up!!!!

It's probably still too early to know for sure about engine performance seeing as we are only two races into a season with two race engine cycles. with a new configuration. We'll see.

My thoughts exactly. That's why suggesting that the Mercedes is heavily detuned to last is silly, specially since we are talking about the engine that is fitted to the team that is in 2.nd place in the championship.
Furthermore, every engine is managed in terms of relationship reliability / performance.
So, Mercedes has been exemplary: they didn't blow any engine and performance-wise, they have been with the best.

This is what I said before: why does everybody picks at Mercedes????? This is idiotic!

I'm not picking on them, I'm just stating that they might be running slightly detuned engines compared to the opposition. In my eyes they have gone from the quickest team in testing but losing many engines, to 2nd, 3rd best team now the season has started and they haven't had engine trouble. Maybe I'm just simplifying things too much.

Are you kidding?
When were they quickest in testing?

This is getting silly...

Like Scuderia_Russ, I think it's too early to make any serious conclusions
