The most important difference is the shape of the side pod, and aft of it.

Split posts from car thread. I see a trend happening. Performance predictions and pecking order assumptions can be had there.

How much of this car is a cary over from last year? Does it share anything with the Red Bull car?

Well it doesn't have direct ties with the RB7, I don't think. BUT this evolved from the STR5, and form the STR4, and the STR4 was practically a Ferrari powered RB5.

And quite a large diameter exhaust too! I might be wrong, but I didn't think exhausts sticking out in this manner were legal.

Looks like bodywork tubing or something like that. The actual exhaust pipe can't stick out of the bodywork.
