... And finally, when did you last see Eddie Jordan or Luca di Montezemolo in a GP car? Patrick Head and Ross Brawn won't even fit into an F1 cockpit. Paul "Just Paul" Stoddart and the Minardians are in it for the love of it :)
Hehe yes that was kind of funny, the guy had the chance to drive his own car, and then after 5m he crashes it into the wall :p
Even I might be more careful with a Minardi

hehe.
Just read this topic..
You might not believe it but I am a big supported of Minardi.
They did so much with so little money its just unbelievable..
I always felt good watching minardi's and had a specials connection to them.. But when we went to the San Marino GP this year. (2nd time btw) we drove ALL the way to Faenza which was on the route to our hotel to look for the Minardi garage. After asking 7 yes 7 ppl we found it... and we could not believe our eyes...
It looked like some warehouse you would expect a supermarket to be housed in... only with a bigger front gate and a big minardi logo. And sry for this long post but we talked to some guy stading next to the truck on the driveway if we could have a look. He directed us to the front desk and yes... they had to phone some that could talk to us but after 10 minutes.. he was there and we got a 45minute tour around the entire minardi factory... UNBELIEVABLE.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! maybe not to some of you but it sure was one hell of an experiance. And the support i felt for minardi has only grow stronger since that day..

btw sry for the post but i just had to tell this in this topic :)

i know :)
They were really friendly. All we wanted was a little look at what they were doing but they offered a full tour so :)

When you are ever in the area its definantly worth the detour.
Unfortunantly we weren't allowed to make to much pictures but got a few from some old windtunnel shapes.

As an Aussie, I won't forget the celebrations after Webber's 5th place in the 2002 Oz GP, his first ever F1 race and the first points for Stoddard's Minardi since man walked on the moon. It's right up there with the Americas Cup win in '83.

Let's face it, we all love the underdog and it's always great to see the lesser-resourced teams get a result - it's all part of the spectacle. The guys running these teams are all characters and we admire their tenacity and fighting spirit, not to mention the yearly miracles they pull to put their cars on the grid year in, year out (just ask EJ).

Let's see more privateer teams I say....

if Minardi disappeared then I think the top 3 teams or something have to supply a third car, which is costly blah blah blah. Besides, it's much more exciting (and funnier) to see Minardis scoring P8 and perhaps kicking a BAR Honda or Toyota out of points.
