From Facebook:
"Our new front wing has improved aero efficiency and given more forward aero balance to cope with developments on blown diffuser. More changes to come on front of car for Melbourne!"

Not the first time their gearbox and power steering have failed, hope they can fix them. Then again the RB5 had reliability issues.
the smaller teams just do not have the strength in depth to sort these things by rigtesting in advance.Question is if they have to resort to trial and error or have the capacity (timewise) to analyse the failure mode and get rid of the reason for the mishap.
As we have seen with Virgin,Lotus last year it takes ages to sort complicated issues and bring something raceworthy to the track.
It took Ferrari months to sort the engine valvetrain issue as well.. so how tough is it for the small outfits..when you run into some issue.

Thought exactly the same. Actually very similar wing was also on some renders (or was that photos?) from car presentation.

EDIT: Here for example ;)

Wing pillars are set very far back on the wing, in contrast to the Ferrari that has theirs attached all the way to the front.

Not on the new wing, though.

I was wondering the same, but it looks a bit like Skype too, so not sure.

Kovalainen is happy with the last test, the new wing gace 2-3 tenths instantly and the balance of the car is better and is turning into corners more easily with more downforce in the front.

Apparently Lotus is quite easy on its tires as on the last long stint there wasn't too much drop-off in times.
