Im in the same range. When you push with this car, and make a tiny mistake, it punishes you like a Mosley hooker.

I haven't got the Star Mazda, but will probably make a purchase on Friday (pay day), so will have a good couple of days in it.

I'm Class D at the minute, but I've covered all bases for promotion to Class C, but I've got no idea when the next promotion date is - anyone got a clue? Start of Season 2? Hope so, I've been quite eager to get in a fast car.

Two ways, first is fast tracking, the second is waiting until the end of your season. There is a calendar on the site as well. The forums have much if about this, and so does the sporting code PDF.

iRacers with High Safety Ratings Get In-Season Upgrades

No one likes to wait, and beginning next month with the start of 2009 Season 4 iRacers who achieve a safety rating of 4.0 and fulfill minimum participation requirements will no longer have to wait for the end of a 12-week season to be promoted to the next higher license level – they’ll be automatically promoted immediately and eligible for all the benefits of their new license.

“It seems fair that drivers who demonstrate a really superior ability to race safely should be able to advance their licenses at a faster rate,” said Dave Kaemmer, iRacing’s CEO. “We’ll maintain our standard end-of-season promotion schedule for racers who have at least a 3.0 safety rating, but less than 4.0. This new FastTrack option provides additional incentive for clean driving.”

Kaemmer noted that new automated program also provides for a swifter penalty for drivers who exhibited really bad driving habits, including in iRacing’s Pro series.

“The incentives for good driving are both positive and negative,” Kaemmer noted. “Drivers whose safety ratings drop below 1.0 at any point during a season, including participants in the Pro Series, will be demoted immediately to the next lower license level. This is a pretty serious penalty for a Pro license holder; there won’t be any FastTrack promotions to Pro status, so they’ll also have to wait until the next year before they can be eligible again.”

Holders of C and B licenses are eligible for mid-season promotion and demotion under the FastTrack program. D license holders may be promoted but are not subject to demotion, while A and Pro license holders are subject only to the demotion part of the program. Rookie promotions are unaffected by the FastTrack program; those promotions will continue to take place every four weeks.

Complete details of the FastTrack license promotion program will be added to the Sporting Code prior to the program’s implementation at the start of 2009 Season 4.

Ahh, that makes sense, nice one :)

So, I should be seeing a promotion at the end of Week 13 then, as my iRating is 3.44 currently.

I think that I might run a full Skippy season in season 2, see how well I can stick it out there, while having a tinker with the bigger toys.

After the update the Mazda feels even more 'sticky' and I improved to 1'16"600.
Too bad it's the same for everybody ...

Woah. Biggest update I've seen yet.

They did this before, and everything was a second faster, then they fixed it, and it went back to normal.

I wonder if this is a similar situation, where they screwed with the friction of the asphalt or the tire model again.

Wow. This is huge.

We have added support for multi-car / multi-class official series and hosted racing.

Noe more iSpeed?

Sector split times and deltas are available for use as a driving training and improvement tool. In the driving screen, use the Tab key to cycle comparison modes.

New fuel tank modelling.

- Fixed a bug that had caused all fuel tanks to add their fuel at the center of mass of every car. Some cars will now have a much greater change in balance between full to low fuel.

And yes the Mazda has new grip tire model.

heres the changes

iSpeed is great because of the telemetry viewer iSpeedLapAnalyzer.

Well, I bought the skippy and all the required tracks.
Two things:
1. The Iracing version of Brands Hatch is just f'n amazing. I had no idea the real hatch was like driving on a rollercoster. Just awesome, and VIR is just a blast as well.
2. How do you tell what your friends are doing online and if they even are online? I tried to look for people last night but to no avail.

See ya tonight if you are online!

This was my best (and only full) season with the solstice before I had to cancel my subscription -last november- if I recall correctly.

I was driving with a logitech momo, and none of the other guys in the top 20 had it. They either had G25, logitech dfg or better stuff.

I also tried out Formula Mazda and the Dallara Indycar. They were unfortunately both un-playable with my slightly damaged momo. I never tried the skip barber though. I had to make a choice between investing for a G25 / DFG or calling it time. Haven't played for 6 months now.

I really loved racing the solstice.

Wow Shrieker, nice record there. Finishing that high, and ahead of B.Shown is worthy of praise for sure.

Lot's of new stuff coming and in the new update.

Updated transmission model. More realistic for clutch using drivers. Night racing added to one track for now, more later.

Spa has been scanned, and production has begun. The Fw-31 is coming in the next three months. The Mustang and v8 Ford Falcon from the Aussi Supercars aren't brand new, but new enough to mention here.

The week 13 action is a blast, with the Solstice, Mustang, and Falcon all racing together at once.

School and work were kicking my ass the last few months and I have had less time to race.

Back in the saddle again.

A little iRacing update for those who haven't checked it out in a while.

The Williams FW-31 is now fully available, and there are now two completely scanned F1 tracks, and a third in the works. You can now compare your times to Nico Rosberg as a benchmark at Spa, and Silverstone. In the spring scanning and work will go underway for Interlagos.

Other changes include the Mazda MX-5 Roadster and Cup car as being the rookie class cars you get with your subscrition. These cars are _infinitely_ more fun to drive and responsive than the Solstice ever was. The cup car is LHD and a 6 speed, the RHD a 5 speed. Both have the 170hp motor and roll cage for added stiffness. These cars are such a huge success, people from all categories are racing them, and some even neglecting the higher end series.

Now that I've got my G27 on order, I hop to have even more fun in the new year.

Wooo! Considering starting my subscription again. In fact, definitely subscribing again. Haven't sim raced for what seems like an age, really eager to get back into it.

Once upon a time, I had a fast enough PC and played GPL for years. You lovely people make me want to get a sim racing session back again.
What spec rig do I need to run this - seeing as I am rolling on an AThlon 2500, 1.5g of DDR and AGP gfx card..

I think I need to get into this decade with my PC!! :o
