I see what you're saying, but the same applies to all cars. All the teams have to consider these factors so it's not just the leading car that this applies to.segedunum wrote:I wish people would stop misinterpreting races with this 'race pace' nonsense. The fact is that you are never going to see a dominant car a good thirty seconds or a minute down the road now because teams have to conserve fuel and preserve the engines and gearboxes for further races. They can't afford to take too much out of the engines because of the loss of power that results and they can't afford to have a DNF anywhere with them or the gearbox. So, they build a reasonable gap between themselves and those behind and they simply manage it and drive well within their limits.
He actually said they would revisit it when they have a chance, which he implied was after they made the improvements for Malaysia.n smikle wrote:Just want to clarify that Mclaren are no longer developing the octbox to race this year. Whitmarsh has confirmed this ever sice they copiedthe RBR exhaust. He said it was no worth the resources. Maybe we might see it next year.
Just been to rfacor turning a few(60 ) laps at Sepang. I'd love to try that thing !!!
And now do those that were complaining about Ford and the F150 finally get the point, and begin to see what happens when people play fast and loose with other company's trademarks.void1 wrote:Why on earth would you think that's an official, McLaren-sanctioned website?
After a bit of searching, I've found out that it was at Hungary. He was annoyed because someone on an in-lap blocked his fast lap. The fact that neither of us could remember where it was just shows how little excitement there is in Hungary....forty-two wrote:Yep, I too remember that, but I too (wierdly!) can't be sure where it was.Muulka wrote: I'm pretty sure that Kobayashi got a grid penalty last year for not coming in to be weighed. I remember seeing a marshall/FIA official in the pitlane gesturing Kobayashi to turn into the FIA garage but he didn't. IIRC he was already annoyed about something, and I think in the heat of the moment he failed to see the bloke.
