Running more rake...

Post

So Red Bull have said that the reason their cars front wing is so close to the ground is because they run the car with more rake.

Now I was under the understanding that you would want the rear of the car very close to the ground in order for the diffuser to work as effectively as possible.

So what are the advantages and disadvantages of running the car with more rake? How does it not disadvantage the diffuser? How does it not ruin the balance by having a higher centre of gravity? Is there also a benefit that the rear wing is effectively higher and in clearer air because the rear of the car is higher up? Does it also change the angle of the wings in effect?
