Hamilton clearly changed his line more than one time on the straight. http://www.megavideo.com/?v=3VFSUEV0

so if he penalised for this incident, alonso shouldn't get any for an incident which ocuured later than hamilton waving which he also blocked alonso and caused further incident.

I don't understand that chart. Button's is a flat line at 0s. How do you read that thing and what is it graphing?
this is graf lap time in sec.

x - laps
y - diff in sec.
graph adopted by the Button to 0
You can select any driver for 0 or average lap time example

And check any drivers, then click the button to the right

Have a look race start. How many times has the Vettel changed the trajectory

It shows Hamilton's position relative to Button. Early on he is several seconds ahead, then only a few then after the change to the hard tyre he is increasingly behind.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

That will probably remain as one of the best duels of this season, and both are penalized. That is just ridiculous. Stewarts probably dream of all overtakings being drive-arounds on the straights, so that they can hide their incompetence and continue receiving wages for nothing. #-o

Just watched the end of lap 44 through to where Hamilton and Alonso had an on-track meeting on lap 46. The only thing I could see was Hamilton having a slight wobble coming out of turn 15 at the end of lap 45 but hardly enough to call it weaving, more positioning than anything. The run down to turn 1 on lap 46 was shown on the BBC looking backwards from Alonso's car so there may have been something there. Does anyone have any footage of the run down to turn 1 on lap 46?
It's what happens on the pit straight. Hamilton comes out of the last corner and is drifting to the left and he goes towards the inside line and then starts to drift again toward the left... I think that's two more moves than he is technically allowed.

Hamilton & Alonso should have both been reprimanded, nothing more. If the FIA keep doing this no one is going to risk overtaking, no matter how easy you make it in F1.

As always the FIA have brought a dark cloud over what was a fantastic weekend of racing. I think F1 has had a real break through this year. The banning of the double diffusers and the change to Pirelli tyres has really improved the racing, that's ignoring DRS & KERS. When you look at the amount of overtaking during the race, alot of it wasn't even happening in the DRS zone.

Ofcourse it's all a big waste of time if the FIA are just going to slap penalties on the most minor misdemeanors.

Tumbarello - andartop posted a link on the previous page and the weaving is clear to see. Not the worst I have seen but weaving all the same.

The graph is interesting, really shows how Hamilton lost pace after that third stop, he really didn't enjoy primes... I wonder how much running he actually did on them over the weekend?

No, not the worst. He got away with murder last year in comparison but the Sepang stewards probably had enough of him (?).

I think the whole lotus suing lotus for the right to race as lotus stinks
And group lotus, the title sponsor of Renault, taking the focus away from team lotus in Malaysia.......

Actually, what the hell am I on about?

Neither of the teams are lotus
Neither of them are British

So who cares, lol

Killed my own argument

Hamilton says he expected the penalty, but for the life of me I can't really see what he did wrong.

Both are British actually. One is a British team wrapped in Malaysian flag, running on Malaysian money, while the other is a British team running under French banner and on Malaysian money. #-o
