Btw, anyone know the prime-option selection for this race? Is it the same soft-hard? I wonder if during qually cars will have to manage their cars through S1 so that in S2 and S3 the tyres will still be there. The graining might be quite a bit in T1 and T2 I suspect. I remember Bridgestone last year were waxing lyrical about how the polesitter (Vettel) was managing the tyres very well in T1 and T2 so that The tyres were still very solid underneath him in S3

I think tyre management through Qualy will be very important in every race this year. Q2 is the key if you can get away with one set of softs at most and only do one Q3 run. That gives you far better tyres for the race.

Button is really getting a handle on these tyres and will get better through the year.

Anyone know the long term weather forecast for the race?

BBC says light rain, though it's anyone's guess really (just look at what happened in Malaysia).

Last 2 years have been wet, so i'm quite hopeful that we will get some rain.

yes, i would also love for it to be the first wet race of the season. With Vettel not quite in Webber or the Mclaren guys reach yet this season, a wet race might spice up things a little.

I'm thinking T1-2 too. T1/2 is a massive corner which requires massive stability under braking. They're trail braking into 1 and on the apex, while T2 tightens up a lot.

I'm excited about turn 13, tight left-hander. Its exit determines the top speed down the back straight.

I doubt that – at Sepang it was McLaren dominating through the fast corners.
