No no, I think the questionable point was that on his outlap to the grid, he had half his engine cover missing

hmmm... :?:
- any parts which are removed from the car in order to carry out any work specifically permitted above, or any parts removed to carry out essential safety checks, must remain close to it and, at all times, be visible to the scrutineer assigned to the relevant car.

Wouldn't the engine cover have been far away as Lewis was doing his outlap though?

That's why I put the quote... :D
But if the FIA say everything is ok, that's fine by me... :D
And Lewis surely won't get a penalty for this... lol

I'm not saying McL did anything illegal, or that Lewis should be penalised. I'm just asking how it (should) sit with the rules. Btw Goran, I'd suggest changing your signature :P

It would have been visible to the scrutineer, as long as he was satisfied that nothing was hidden, then all is OK

As a general rule allegory doesn't.
And I might add that it wasn't projected at those two particular posts that I quoted. They just happened to be the last two. (An ill-advised, lazy endeavor on my part)
The story was going like this:

"Hamilton (the boss) contravened the rules"
"Did he?"
"Yes I think he did"
"He should be penalized"
"No he did not contravene any rules"

The point being that when you’re at the top you get more scrutiny.
Paying the cost to be the boss

The lyrics of the song have nothing to do with the metaphor, I just thought some fine blues would be....well.....fine.
