Team Lotus T128 Renault

A still taken from the video linked above.

For the photo sessions there was either the existing exhaust under the sidepod exit or none connected at all, but when they ran the straight line tests it seems they have an almost exact copy of Mclaren's take on the EBD (exposed exhaust as apposed to RB's cowled version). Even has the upright section of bodywork infront of the rear tyre.

Edit - Image

Mac exhaust for comparison

Looks like it's just bolted onto the end of the exhaust. I hope it works well for them.

So the differences I spotted are:

1) new front wing
2) new exhaust McLaren style
3) new diffuser & floor (can't really see but I suppose they have to with the new exhaust)
4) slight changes in sidepod shape

And the car is setup with quite a lot of rake Red Bull style.

Anyone spot other changes?

I think people are just seeing rake where they want to see it. IMO this car looks nothing like the Red Bull in terms of rake, the front wing doesn't look any closer to the ground, which is the end goal in this whole setup no?

i think i have to agree
i thought all cars are set up so the front is lower than the rear? which is what we are seeing. This is nothing like the red bull rake

all cars feature substantial static rake and that is nothing new and not F1 specific.
The RB approach is to maintain the rake with speed wich is contradicting to usual setup startegies-normally you would like to shed some df with speed and maybe even run the car nose up to reduce drag.

But again just roughly calculate how much rake you would need on a 3300mm wheelbase car to scratch the ground with the tip of the endplates....+maintaining just a tiny bit of rh at the teatray leading edge....

The upgrade seem to have work nicely

Now they seem to be only 0,5 seconds behind Williams and 0,8 seconds behind STR.

Can't really say until after qualifying/the race, but it certainly looks like a nice step at the moment.

I don't think they have the upgrades in the car, the ones tested at Duxford were supposedly for Barcelona?

Film days do not allow the testing of new parts. The cars can only run with the set-up used at the previous race. So how could they test parts in prep. for Barca?

Because it wasn't a filming day – it was a straight line testing day.
