Looking at the rear – their rear suspension is *seriously* tough. It didn't actually break, but the impact was hard enough that the shape of the armco barrier was imprinted in the rear wheel.
Yes, and he hit the back end hard, but on replay It showed him really slam the front first.

So... given that that's 1 of 3 sets of wets trashed... If we get even wet qualifying the top teams will be out of sets of wets. Let alone a wet race – anyone envisioning red flags if the race is wet, and 20 laps in no one has any tyres left.
Maybe that's why McLaren didn't do any running - looking to save wets for later in the weekend. A bit of a gamble that but it might work well should it continue to be damp under foot.

It creates it's own rooster tail (in a sense) out beyond the sidepods! Looks fantastic!

Yes, I noticed that - it looked superb. I hope we get more footage of it in the next sessions.

Each team gets 3 sets of full wets and three sets of intermediates for the weekend?

Correct, but the full wets are beginning to go off after only 5 laps.

I meant to say each car gets three + three? Let's see Vettle has one set gone!
Fred did thirteen laps I think that most were on inters, so he has be ge a little creful. McLaren may have played it very smart, although the chance of full wets being optimum for the whole race and quali is not very likely :-#

Yes, but if it's truely wet, those inters aren't going to be much use.

Dont they get to hand back the used wets?

Each practice session you are allowed to hand back a used set of tyres and have them replenished.
More could have been done.

I've never heard anything about having them replenished.

They have to return 1 set of softs – but I don't think the teams get them back again, they just have to get rid of them.

The 4 wires (2 coming out of each wing pillar) are applying a current in the front wing allowing the wing to flex. Totally illegal of course...
Any other teams running with wires in the front wing?
Probably just a sensor.
