Anyways, here's to a good race tomorrow. Hopefully the championship standings can continue to even out.

It's not gonna rain tomorrow.

I'm expecting tyre wear to be a lot different than it was in China. So an extra set of un-used softs might not end up causing a dramatic impact on the results as it did in China.

The teams certainly seem to think so. Personally, I would of been happy to save a set of softs and maybe fall as far as 5th or 6th if you know you can overtake. But thats just me.

The importance of having fresh sets of sticker tyres will become more and more evident.the more severe the punishment of tyres (high speed corners ,hot track etc the more pronounced this will be.
I think the gridposition is really not as important as it was in the last 20 years. And as soon as you realise pole is not possible ,it is just about saving the quick lap potential for the race (you will have that super quick first lap plus a .something advantage perlap for the whole stint ...and still you can use this advantage to gain flexibility in pit strategy as well ...the advantage could be as much as 6 or 7 seconds...

Could it be that McLaren are thinking of doing the race with only two stops?

Well, Lewis said in the prev race the set of new options he kept didn't make a diference as he was on them for a very short stint. But even then, i would assume they allowed him to overtake people with more ease than if they had been old, however i don't recall with precision what happened in that stint.

For this track , since the degradation on the right front is quite high comapred to left front ... can the teams switch the right and left front ?? Is this allowed ?
might be they can get a couple of laps more ?

Best race comments I've heard in ages. Thanks, Redmondo and Shrieker. I hope you have a nice race Shriek, best luck and seize the day.

I wouldn't call Lewis arrogant nor honest, but optimist. A tad too.

Well you have to remember though mate that it's not exactly an extra set of softs - it's an extra lap or two, and a slight step change in performance; on a set of tyres. Difference of doing 1 vs 2 Q3 runs is that tomorrow, there will be a stint where some Q3 guys have fresh softs (with those who did only 1 Q3 run) and other Q3 runners having scrubbed softs (with those who did 2 Q3 runs)

If you can make time gains on your outlap with a slightly better set of tires you can gain track positions, so it's definitely an advantage imo.

0.4s between Vettel and Webber seems like a big gap.

I'm hoping the two Red Bulls won't just disappear and there will only be a scrap from 3rd onwards. When Red Bull didn't do a second run I thought the other teams wouldn't bother because they were so far ahead anyway. Well, Vettel was.

I didn't much care for him and some of his comments but the way he conducted himself on the podium at Turkey last year made him grow hugely in my estimation. Here was a racer who refused to celebrate because he knew that it was mostly as a result of the misfortune of a colleague who was up there on the podium with him.

I don't think they would. The dirty side in Istanbul has a very pronounced effect. In previous years, at least. I believe the P2 guy in GP2 also was a major klutz at the start.
