Even if Vettel crashes out twice, he's still in it!
They changed to 25 points for what reason again?
The points system should be as close as the racing.
Vettel is baby shumi in every sense, but mostly for the combination of car, driver, teammate and team.
The reason was to give points to people in the back, to even the score a bit.
So, unless you always qualify in the first places, you have a slight advantage over the previous system. The difference is slight but it is
against persons that, like Vettel, score consistently on top,
not in his favor. Just take the old score (10-8-6...) and multiply by 2.5.
You get the same results for people in the five top positions (almost). The next five receive more points.
Old system x 2.5 = Result > Points today
10 x 2.5 = 25 > 25 Same
8 x 2.5 = 20 > 20 Same
6 x 2.5 = 15 > 15 Same
5 x 2.5 = 12.5> 12 More
4 x 2.5 = 10 > 10 Same
3 x 2.5 = 7.5 > 8 More
2 x 2.5 = 5 > 6 More
1 x 2.5 = 2.5 > 4 More
0 x 2.5 = 0 > 2 More
0 x 2.5 = 0 > 1 More
So, ladies, I'm sure that Vettel, who has been in the top all the year, has received less points than under the old system.
