McLaren MP4-26 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I have to say that I'm struggling to see the beam wing in those shots. Do you have any shots of the rear of the car?

+1 you can't even see the beam wing in those shots.
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I guess he though the Main part of the Rear wing is the beam wing.

THe beam wing is the one above the rear crash structure Ian.

Maybe there has been a mix-up.

blowing the diffuser with the exhaust when braking is now banned. apparently.
when braking the throttle may be only be open up to 10% of its maximum.

I don't see any particular difference, what's meant to have changed?

If the ban is true and furthermore ebds are nerfed significantly, this may hinder McLaren less than other teams as their car generates a higher proportion of its downforce from the rear wing, right?

Not sure as their beam wing is very blocked, though the upper wing is pretty efficient.

I dont say that it HAS changed :) Im more asking if it has??

Because to me it looks different in the middle section where it merges with the pillar.
