It has to do with the begining of the "European Season" See now? That is how it came up.

I was aware that technically, Turkey is part of Europe.

But from the perspective of the teams and the history of F1 Turkey isn't considered part of the clique of European nations that have been in the sport for generations. Additionally, distance-wise and from a logistics point of view, it's much more difficult to get to.

Istanbul Park is situated in Pendik on the Asian side of Istanbul, so Barcelona is the first European race.

I would agree then that this is the first European GP of the season.

Yep, my bad, I just did a quick google maps for istanbul park and it put it (incorrectly) on the west. It is indeed out to the east of the city.

Now that this blown diffuser bs has been regulated by the genius Whiting, what can we expect to see really? I know pretty much all the teams have one, some probably have a way more effective one but what can we expect really?

Much slower laptimes than with it? less rake by RBR? etc.

My bet is...
RBR will be greatly affected, especially in qualifying
Ferrari & McLaren will be affected fairly badly, but not as bad
Merc won't be affected much at all
Renault will be affected badly
Virgin, HRT and Lotus might get a catch up to the back of the grid.

If i remember correctly, RBR used this system in Race (although down tuned some) but Ferrari with it´s brutal sound i can´t remember hearing in the race.

If yes, the gap which was pretty much equal between them in Turkey, should maybe with a mini chance be slightly tilted towards Ferrari being the faster car in the race?

Man DRS, now this thing that equals the field some (maybe) will probably do for a pretty good race i think. It´s been to long since the last race imo

The change affects engine gases off throttle to 10% so it wont be as bad as we think i suppose. The drivers will have to break earlier, but as far as on throttle nothing will changes

Interesting, apparently Webber better adapted to the RB6 before the continous flow engine mapping was put on so it will be interesting to see how this change affects both drivers when it's removed from the RB7 for Monaco!
