McLaren MP4-26 Mercedes

Is it just me, or are the leading edges of the rad intakes thinner than they were? If you get what I mean...

This is the most significant upgrade i think. The outwash front wing has a more agressive angle and can scoop out more air becuase of it's increased width.
Notice it comes more inboard of the end plate allowing it to deflect more air.

This also makes the underserside of the small winglets and main element more effective.

More front end downforce, now we only need more in the rear..
Though the outwash wing helps the floor so that increases downforce overall.
For Sure!!

Pipes are lower to the ground it looks like. The old design is much taller as it's coming from a higher point from under the cover.

I like the undercut though. Looks like they were reading the thread.

They're moving in the right direction.

Opinion of what the small wires are near the exhaust primaries to collector junction. Thermocouples?

Seems so. Could be strain gauges too, but somebody would have to tell us about strain gauges like those.

As for this, I thought the side pod was scooped out at the front but this picture shows it was just a reflection of the curve of the channel.

Looks to be much more tapered with a redbullian radiator exit:

Check it out, it seems all they needed was a bit more mores! Had they known more about this they would now have more points ;)

No it's not – follow the matte black lower edge of it in the radiator intake – it used to be dead flat, it's now curved.

Well I think this photo puts that one to bed.

Reflection it is.

Looks like the new exhaust is initially just for fridays practice session again, I presume to test for reliability. On the pictures looking straight don onto the exhaust it looks like 'R1 FP' written on in yellow. Maybe we'll see R2 later in the practice?
