Is air flow attached around the nose?

Post

Is air flow attached around the nose of the current F1 cars? Say from the tip to about 1 meter back. Using NACA foil shapes as a reference, the front of the nose seem to be very pointed.

I am not concerned with how the nose integrates into the complete aero system. Are these nose shapes efficient in a stand alone situation.

Yes. current F1 noses are an expanding wedge shape so separation is very unlikely.

What's an expanding wedgie shape?

Is the use of a wedge satisfactory because it does not need to cope the pitch movements a wing foil might encounter?

A nose cone.

So you can go with this wedge because you know you are not going to have any chance of pressure recovery found with traditional air foils? In the case of the nose cone, the bottom flow hits the floor splitter and the top flow runs into the cockpit.
