Mercedes GP W02

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Looks like they moved the exhaust openings further back. No FEE.

Wait, where's the magic paddle? I suppose if it's magic we won't really see it now will we?

That's a cooling hole. The radiator layout is not very efficient it seems.
The air speed at the bottom is to slow or too low a pressure, so the bust a hole through it and duct it to spupply more air from else where.

I wont be surpised to see cooling hoes by the splitter keel or behind the barge boards.
For Sure!!

+1

The upper rad seems to barely be reached, I guess a regular radiator would be more efficient, also they could turn it over the wide axle. Doubt it would fit though, This is just packaging driven and nothing else.

The double decker radiators -were does the hot air escape from the lower radiator ? we can see massive inlet ducting only...

what I find alarming is the team is claiming to have not done any low fuel test and cobveniently forgetting to have done exactly that in the morning session...
is this a case of selective reality perception maybe or does the morning session not count?

Glad to see the mercs stretching their legs this time... Whether it be on low fuel or to the brim, their performance on this track is commendable...

Now the question is.. Do they have enough rubber to last the race?

Hopefully and fingers crossed...

I remember people once wondered about whether this logo was a 3D manipulation or not.

I am guessing not?

I got this image from Daimler website. Just brightened it a little bit to see the exhaust more clearly:

Is it different? It looks the same as in Monaco to me?
