Hamilton messed up the final corner and lost the pole he already would've been clinging on to by the skin of his teeth. It'd be interesting to compare his last sector time with his previous lap. He would probably be on pole if not for that slight mistake. Vettel's lap was faultless. So many people love breathing Hamilton's name in the same sentence with Senna, but Hamilton's quali form can't hold a candle to Senna's.

On a side note, it's good to see that Red Bull have been caught proper

Education is that which allows a nation free, independent, reputable life, and function as a high society; or it condemns it to captivity and poverty.

I see whats Vettel talking about...Hes talking about Hungary where he would expect to dominate but yet take pole position by a tenth with a questionable lap from the second closest rival...Thats what hes talking about. =D>

Ditto..that app is wicked....adds a whole new dimension to watching the race....Webber lost a few positions based on JB....

Agree. Hamilton was faster in both first sectors, lost it in the last. It was exactly opposite in his first Q3 run.
Agreed...it was only Vettel that could keep it together for the entire lap...

I think Button held it very well. Hamilton on the other hand... screwed up on a few turns, could have went 2 tenths faster. But that is what qualifying is about; keeping it together.

At least we now have some competitiveness for the good of god!

Props for Vettel for keeping it together on the last lap =D> McLaren may not got pole but it clearly showed it was the car to beat out there on Hamilton's hands at least.

I wonder where did all this downforce on the McLaren car came from...and that front end...that car was absolutely planted. :?

the question is really if Vettel can keep his championship under control...i don´t think he will make the podium on sunday.this time it maybe only 5th .
Hamilton has a brand new set of supersofts left in the armoury...Button looks strong ,Massa is finally back and Alonso will excell...the championship seems to come back to life now it´s far from over.

If he gets away first he'll be strong but if Hamilton gets all racey I think he has no chance. If Hamilton and/or Alonso/Button also do him, he'll drop like a stone. He can sprint away in a dominant car but can't tough it out in a proper race.

I was thinking there should've been something funky considering how much Vettel was improving in his second Q3 run (was watching Star Sports coverage and not BBC; so I didn't hear about him using his used Q2 set in Q3). Btw; did anyone other than Vettel actually improve on their second Q3 run? I don't remember any of them doing that.

Don't forget the Hungarian dirty side is absolutely horrendous. I remember 2003 or 2005; the order into the first turn were the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th qualifiers.

It should rain tomorrow before the race, so dirt should'nt be a problem anymore.
