It'd be interesting to compare his last sector time with his previous lap. He would probably be on pole if not for that slight mistake. Vettel's lap was faultless. So many people love breathing Hamilton's name in the same sentence with Senna, but Hamilton's quali form can't hold a candle to Senna's.

On a side note, it's good to see that Red Bull have been caught proper
Well Sennna had a dominant car. You tend to push less. So i wouldn't compare the two just from one session.
Hamilton's quali form is better than all on the grid atm. He only did one previous lap on the SS tyres. All others got more acclimatized to them.
Vettel's pole was spotted from a mile away. Always reserve half a second for Redbull in Q3; always. They will find it, especially if we look on last years pole time, you know Newey is going to get the car at about the same level as the rb6 speed wise.
For Sure!!

Oh come on Ringo, even when Senna was in Lotus he wiped the floor with everyone; with a lesser car !!

It should rain tomorrow before the race, so dirt should'nt be a problem anymore.
Oh wow, lots and lots of rain expected during the night and in the morning. If that turns out to be the case yes, dirt won't be a problem at all...

The real question is; will the rain fall over the track? Remember that it could very well miss the track; i.e. raining another part of the Hungaroring

That would be great.. I really don't want the race to stay too long on the super soft.

The track is 17 kilometers from downtown Budapest, if it rains there, will be touch and go for the track; imho if it rains, the track will get it's fair share too !

Both RB`S were equipped with a new rear wing which ultimately proved slower than the older one, Seb changed his back to the old wing. Anyone know if Webber did?

It's expected that the race will be a 4 stopper, does anyone know ferrari's situation regarding tires? Tires I believe will play a bigger factor than where they start.

I don't know, but the reason for Webber's speed must be grip related. Maybe he got dud sets of tyres, the gap is just too huge for a Man that was running so close to the top the whole weekend.

I hope the team haven't given him Vettel's old tyres while keeping fresh new sets for Vettel.. Not good for the team.

 hand me downs. I agree, it would not be good for Webbers moral either.

Btw; did anyone other than Vettel actually improve on their second Q3 run? I don't remember any of them doing that.

If he gets away first he'll be strong but if Hamilton gets all racey I think he has no chance. If Hamilton and/or Alonso/Button also do him, he'll drop like a stone. He can sprint away in a dominant car but can't tough it out in a proper race.
Don't forget the Hungarian dirty side is absolutely horrendous. I remember 2003 or 2005; the order into the first turn were the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th qualifiers.
Not sure but I think Massa did!

They are the same as everyone except for Hamilton (I think) in terms of sets used. may have a lowspeed lap or two more on them than some others.

How can Vettel fall out of the podium on this one?

If the championship is to stay open he needs to fall back this race.

Button could jump him maybe and hold him up, Alonso and Massa going to the front at the pitstops?

It's interesting looking on all the outcomes as 6 drivers try to put themselves ahead of Vettel. The clock is ticking and they all need to nip vettel's lead in the bud.

Here's my start prediction.

Vettel gets a good start.
Hamilton Follows.
Button follows closely then bunches up, Alonso goes to the inside massa on the outside.
Vettel is being chased by Lewis, puts in some stinking fast laps, hamilton responds.
DRS enabled and we have another germany on our hands.

Hard to twist it that Vettel loses out to give me that 4rth place finish from him though. #-o

Only the long game can get him off the podium, be it a mistake or reliability issue.

I reckon it might come down to tyres as LH has an advantage with an extra set over everybody else.....

If Lewis gets a good start Seb is toast. Unless Seb gets out first and gets away quick. He can lead comfortably from the front, but if Lewis even gets a sniff at the lead Seb is dead meat. He won't be able to hold him off and Lewis will drop him like a bad habit. I hate this though, I moved and cable rates are way to high where I live now so I won't get any more live F1 coverage for the rest of the season. :(

I'm glad you asked
For starters unless my source is completely wrong some members are really over-playing the rain factor.
Tonight: (sat) Some clouds. Low 58F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Tomorrow: (sun) A chance of showers during the morning. Partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. High 69F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30%
http://weather.yahoo.com/hungary/budape ... 4365/#text

What that means to me is there is a 30% chance of rain Sunday morning during the support races, hardly enough to affect the rubbering in of the track. The race will be dry. Finally Felipe Baby has destroyed his teammate in quali (beat him by .015) Massa has been getting off the line much better than Fred (and just about anyone else this season), and I see no reason for it to change this weekend except he is on the dirty side of the track (and it will be dirty)If Vettel has just a slightly below average start look for a challenge from Button and Fred as I am sure Vettel will do only one of two things, cover The Boss (That will let Button and possibly Fred through) RB are really having issues with KERS and Felipe Baby has a chance to jump him or at least take a run at it. I have a feeling that SV will be very careful around turn one and he may lose several places. Second scenario Button and or Massa will throw caution to the wind and either or could make SV road kill before he gets anywhere near turn 2
The most likely scenario is that Vettel will get to turn one first but he has 4 angry men trying to stop him. Make that 5 I think that Webber would just as soon b!+ch-$lap him as look at him at this point in their relationship. I see this turning into a bad day for Vettel if he doesn't run away at the start. I could very easily see Vettel off the podium or a DNF in this race,(0r it may be a casual win for him), although I doubt it, Ferrari and McLaren have better and much more reliable KERS systems and I have a funny feeling that Vettel will be happy to take a 4th out of this race!
