This article is written as it were a fact that Senna is going to replace Heidfeld, but it's not according to autosport, it's Eddie Jordan's opinion.

Lol. Both are loudmouthed people who (for the most part) sound like they don't know what they're talking about, so... easy to mix them up

Bouilier wants to catch Mercedes according to the news on their website .No mention of Heidfeld or a driver change....
I don´t think anyone would expect Senna to perform better than Heidfeld if dropped in this weekend?

Ersatz Senna in an ersatz Lotus. Perfect. Perfectly repulsive.

If I were Boullier, I'd keep Nick til Monza. Grosjean should win GP2 at Spa, and has driven well this year. He's older now, and France NEEDS an F1 driver!

IMO he'd do a better job than Bruno, although thanks to Genii tying up with a Brazilian investment firm in a deal worth $2 billion, this probably won't happen.

I think the problem was Boullier expected Nick to be Kubica...

I agree, I think they wanted another Kubica. They need to keep Nick on at Spa. He'll have some good input to the new upgrade package.

If I were boullier or lopez ..I´d shut up and let the drivers do their job and kick ass behind closed doors ...I think Renault as a team has made more errors and was more of a disappointment then Heidfeld.
Still Renault is a lot closer to Mercedes after 11 races than 2010!(thanks to both drivers scoring )and Rosberg really not making much of an impact compared to 2010.

Will he? Surely that's part of their complaint with Nick this season.

Have Lopez or Boullier said anything thusfar about a switch? It sounds like the rumours are escaping elsewhere.

I agree, Renault has made errors during this season; a season of dramatic change for them.
That is why they desperately wanted an experienced driver leading them in the right direction..

Or as per EJ said after Suzuka 2010 (in their red button forum, about Petrov and Massa), "This is not a media... put-up. This has come out, by virtue of being leaked by the teams, to the media. They do that because they want the price of participation in the team to go up." In one of his insights which are always oh-so-relevant (only to Pay drivers)

However, I think it might be applicable in this case. Maybe there is actually nothing behind it; but a rumor seeded by Renault to the press, to put public pressure on Nick Heidfeld to put in better performances.

Mind you; I don't 100% agree with EJ's reasoning.

I think that engaging a pay-driver is a sign that Renault is finally pulling out, going back to being an engine supplier only.

I don't – I think engaging a pay-driver is a sign that the paid-driver isn't performing ;)

The only reason a team would want to pay a driver is if he gives them a sufficient chance of winning his pay (and more) back in constructors championship's winning and/or TV rights for next year. Heidfeld clearly isn't doing this, so there's no point in paying him.

Because, of course, suing the team that revived his dead career by giving him a slot as an emergency replacement is JUST what Nick needs to do to improve his future prospects.

This is like calling in a NATO air-strike on your own foot (which you should always save for times when shooting it just doesn't seem enough).
