This guy is in way over his head. Nick is probably chuckling a little right about now.
Yep, q3 twice in his first too races in a long time... WAYYY over his head clearly.
It appears the only way he got there was by making Bonsai runs into the pits to grab all his option tires, completely disregarding the pit speed limits by a lot. I am no fan of Nick. I've followed his career and thought in his prime he was about on the same level as Button. But Nick had some bad breaks and it ends up that there was always a young gun that was a better risk. (Maybe if he was a Brit some other doors might have opened, but at least he could hang with Petrov). The jury is still out on Senna. I have a proposition for you bob. I will bet you that Senna finishes 13th or worse. The winner gets to pick a signature the loser has to use for the Fortnight (until the next race). Nothing crude or demeaning just something that acknowledges that the horse you backed lost.
What sayeth thee?
Button is damn quick. Lewis Hamilton probably has the most raw speed & Button is more or less there or there about. Last year he qualified ahead on hards in Suzuka while Hamilton had softs. He has also out-qualified Hamilton a few times. This year too apart from a few races,in most of the races he is very very close to hamilton within a couple of three tenths.

I would say Button is on par with Alonso on raw pace.He is also very good in managing tyres. Nick is a horrible qualifier. He could not out-qualify kamui, who although a great racer is horrible qualifier & get out-qualified by his rookie team-mate almost every time.

Nick cant even out-qualify Petrov while Senna is on par with Petrov. If Kubica comes back as good as he was,Petrov will be 3-4 tenths behind every race.

wonder how it will play out tomorrow, one stop for rosberg? :P

Rosberg saved 2 sets of options. It will be a 2 stop race with him putting the hard out of way after 10-12 laps. The hard is around a 1s slower atleast. There is absolutely no reason to run with a hard compound which has had 3-4 qualifying laps when he has 2 brans new OPTION TYRES. I expect Mercedes to have a 5th-6th position due to both of them saving options for the race(& Merc are likely to stronger in this track than others).

Is that dry weight increase?
Maybe weight distribution ...

Last year you could put the weight on the front, this helped in the chicanes

Maybe the camber limit slowed the cars as well. DRS barely gave enough performace as the F-duct because the wings are such that they are already optimised for straightline speed & you gain a lot from DRS then.

Maybe the Pirelli softs are not as quick as the Bridgestones or maybe the EBD is not generating as much downforce as the Double DIffuser.

I thought too they will shatten last year's time by a 1 full second atleast.

I said Nick in his prime Trollmeister. Five years ago plenty of enthusiasts would put Nick and Button in the same class. Please don't twist my words!

Have a good race everybody...btw...did anyone see Vettel power slide the RB yesterday? Friggin on the limit! 8) wow...Hamilton just reckoned that Vettel brakes about 25 meters after he does....the set up of that RB seems perfect....

Of course not  anything can happen...I reckon RB might have a problem overtaking on the straight....they hit the rev limits on the straight....if they get a tow it's even earlier
