Looks like a modification of the serrated gurney, here is another picture where you can see light through it (on the right hand side).

Maybe they somehow re-direct some of the exhaust gases so that it doesn´t only close in the airflow on the sides but also a little bit on the top?

Would that even be effecient or possible?

Hey guys,

I finally decided to make an account here... i'Ve been following F1technical since early 2010 and I am deeply in love with the mighty RB7.

After the podium ceremony, The camera showed that Mark's bull was hanging down from a crane and that there were at least 30 people under it taking pictures of the floor/diffuser.... I wonder when those pics will come up into the internet, because RB had new the new diffuser, im sure some teams might be looking foward to see them too!

great shots!! Wish we had one more focused on either side of the diffuser just to see if those holes on the side are simply holes or if they come from below etc.

They're simply holes. Just extended the perforated gurney to be more like the Torro Rosso etc.

any idea why they have those horizontal open slots in the front face of the tub ?
It almost looks like cavities for ballast?
Or is it one more Newey stiffness vs weight tradeoff?

Given Mark Webber's RBR was on a crane for quite a while I'm surprised nobody's got pictures of the new underfloor yet.
