Not often do we get to see planning applications for a new facility at a F1 team, let alone the extact blue prints for a facility such as a Simulator. Also yet another tie up with McLaren, a orginisation that could start to be as big as Ferrari, and a orginisation that is willing to better the sport by helping others get better for better competition to a point, however they will be having to make their own software for it.

Yeah, having the planning information so publicly available is pretty cool.

That's a naively optimistic viewpoint to say the least!

McLaren Group, through McLaren Applied Technologies, has cleverly leveraged its highly specialised expertise & technologies to create alternative income streams within F1.

In no part are they doing this out of a desire for better competition, to any point whatsoever.



With the ever-louder rumours of the team's impending debt payments all due at the same time in 2011, I'm fascinated to see how that all gets resolved for Genii, particularly while they continue to invest in infrastructure like this.
