How about copyright of pictures shot at races?

Post

Hi guys, I have a set of hd quality pictures of the underneath of the car, taken at Monza whilst it was hoisted in the air, these were taken from directly underneath the car.

The worst that can happen is that they pay you to take the images off-line.
The opposite end of the spectrum is that everyone get's HD pic's.

Not really a choice I guess :p

You could send pm to members who want to take a look, if you don't want to post them on the forum that is. Isn't exactly industrial espionage, is it ?

Personally, I'd like to take a look.

Yeah, post the pics here. That will attract a lot of F1 teams to spy here. I see no legal problems at all, as long you were not in a restricted area when you took the pics.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Hi guys, no I wasnt in a restricted area when the pics were taken, they were taken when the car was hoisted for recovery after the race finished, the pics were taken from directly underneath the car which was approx 10ft in the air.

To be honest didnt realise there was such a big deal with them until watching BBC on Sat, so did some looking around on here, found that the video had been removed for copyright which I am assuming means that the copyright was purchased from the person that shot the video.

Mate photos get put up on sites like this all the time, as far as I know no action has ever been taken against anyone on this site.

If you were a fan paying to attend the GP and you took the pictures in a public area, then you are free to post them.

The video was pulled because it was broadcasting race footage from the GP, the FIA\FOM do not allow videos to be posted, as thats what they sell to the TV companies for millions. Still images from the race are fine.

We've had detailed photos of the Red Bull floor posted here and on my blog in the past. You will not get into trouble for posting.

Scarbs...

PS I'd love to see the higher res pics as the screen grabs from the video aren't great quality.

As a sum up: you're free to post any pictures and/or videos which you have taken personally without any infringement.

If you record the broadcast you can't post it. But you can post a video where you film the television.

You can post images if they're not of your copright.

So, you're more than free to post those pictures if you like, no one will say nothing at all to you.

About guys from team checking forum, be assured that they pay photographers to get the right photos.
