Autoglym Lifeshine covering

Having just been and ordered a brand new Kia pro-ceed today I took a look on the options list and with it being a "4" there's not much, other than accessories, that you can add to the car. Then I came across this ^ as an option. It's £295 and from what the dealer has a said it's like a scotch guard coating for the interior and a protective coating for the paint work.

My question is, has anyone out there had this product.....and was it worth it? OR more so has anyone not taken this product and regretted it? As far as I know there are a few car manufactures that offer it and as with any covering/coating it's going to be best put on out of the factory so I only have a couple of weeks to find out more info

also to tie into the f1 aspect, i've found its also the same coating that merc have on the f1 cars as part of the sponsorship deal they had with honda thats continued

Like any other coating, it's only any good if it's applied to perfectly prepared paint, unfortunately, your car will probably be washed with a gritty sponge by the local trainee mechanic at the dealers, which will put loads of tiny micro-scratches in, which will then be sealed in by the Lifeshine treatment.
Afaik it's only an acrylic sealant anyway, so it'll need regularly topping up or it'll wear off after 4/5 months.

IMO, you'd be better off finding a local detailing firm that will coat the car in GTechniq C1 for you - it's a quartz crystal coating that should last well over a year even without topups, and it also repels a lot of dirt and resists scratches when washing too.
It's what I use on the Safari cars because it keeps so much dirt off the car stays lighter!
They also do interior, trim and glass coatings that are damned good too if you want everything treated.

It keeps the F1 link for you too, as it's what Force India have started treating their bodywork with, because it stops the marbles from the Pirelli rubber sticking to the surfaces....

Thanks for the info. i've decided against it now anyway as i've got myself some jetseal 109 that was hightly recommended from a detailing expert. because the car will be "wrapped" from the factory, it shouldnt be to bad as far as scratches are concerned. your right about the wearing off thought. looked throught the LIFETIME warranty terms and conditions and the car will need to be washed and dryed with autoglym products, so yeah, effectivly topping up!

If you can recommend any glass and leather coating i'm all ears. got scotchguard for the carpets and i've heard they also do a scotchguard coating for leather, may have to google about!

They do indeed, I wouldn't go anywhere but gtechniq for the windscreen coating though, their G1 is leagues ahead of most stuff.
