Here's hoping he comes back with the same level of talent. He'd boost Renault a great deal. I'd like to see Ferrari sign him to a 2013 contract.

Kubica months away from return

This doctor is just riding off the hype just to get himself some fame to be a celebrity doctor.
He's been saying the same thing for months. :)
Robert is human not a cyborg, he needs more than a tune up and overhaul.
Now this race routine he did in germany probably revealed that he was nowhere close to driving an f1.
Roberts needs to rest before he opens up a wound trying to drive in the simmulator.

mid 2012 is the time i say.

Doctor Rossello for polish "Radio Trojka":
-he can move all fingers and lift things
-he has feeling and dexterity in his fingers
-healing is over only rehab now for muscles etc.
-he will for sure be able to drive an f1 car
-although his hand won't be 100% like before so he can forget playing piano or other instruments
-he is already driving road cars
-no bandages on the hand since July, so the photos must be old
-his healing was much faster than excepted

Considering the fatal accidents we've been experiencing in motorsport as of late, I think we should feel extremely thankful that Kubicas accident wasn't worse. With the type of car he was driving and the environment (rural roads with stone walls and guard rails) it could have been a lot worse, going by other fatal accidents in this rally series.

Sorry Donskar, 2013 vacancy is already reserved for Sergio Perez.

Only if Perez AND Ferrari's tech team up their games. If Ferrari have a very good car and Perez progresses, I agree with you. But if Perez does not shine -- or the car is not very competitive -- Ferrari might go with a more proven driver -- like Kubica. And I understand he and Alonso get along well (?)

Yesterday, when I published revelations concerning the health of Robert Kubica had some concerns about whether the information that appeared on the Internet reflect the words that fell during yesterday's broadcast, "The third side of the coin," the radio "Troika". Today, courtesy of Mr. Adam Malecki, working in the sports editors' Three "I am sure that the information is correct. Below is the full conversation, which Mr. Adam moved with Dr. Rossello.
Adam Malecki: How is Robert? How is rehabilitation?

Igor Rossello: Robert made a good progress in recent times: I can talk about it in what I am most competent: but from the beginning, from the date of the accident was mainly occupied with his right hand. Robert moves have all your fingers. It is able to lift objects. Even grab your thumb and forefinger, which until recently was impossible. To this already regained sensation in the fingertips and the nerves regenerate very nicely. All that is slowly, but it works as it should.

AM: Are you surprised by this development?

IR: I was surprised that Robert so quickly recovers. Clearly we are not dealing with the so-called "normal" patient.

AM: And yet there may be some complications?

IR: No, not anymore. Now that's thinking that as soon as possible to put it in the car. Sorry. In the F1 car. Because Robert already runs a car.

AM: But recently appeared on the Internet, various photos of Kubica, made by fans and posted on facebook, and on them, Robert was bandaged right hand!

IR: That's not true. Robert has long been no bandage. And since the surgery in Modena, who had him unlock the elbow and make it easier to navigate. It is well known on success, Bob can move freely with his elbow. The only thing that awaits us is a small procedure that will improve the functioning of the wrist.

AM:It is now working on what, Robert?

IR: Over the strength of the muscles which were not used, and of the wrist, which still does not move perfectly in August.

AM: And what such a work to restore power?

IR: That's a lot of exercises that Robert performed very conscientiously. And like I said, it is no longer a stage of recovery, but to prosecute. It's almost accomplished. As I look at Robert I can not stop wondering how well it all went: All fractures healed, the wound healed. The only question is whether Robert will be able to ride as before. But that will assess specialists. We have done our job perfectly

AM: So the physical side, Robert will be able to return to full fitness and form before the accident?

IR: Yes, it is possible. I would like to emphasize how much Robert is determined. He already knows that will be able to return to law enforcement. and it is even more screwed

AM: It is known that in Formula 1, the functionality of the hand, your hand should be perfect. There will be no restrictions?

IR: For sure will be some limitations. In such cases, it never comes back to one hundred percent efficiency. But we wondered about the amputation, so it shows how serious was the situation. We fought for life, then to save the arm, his condition was very bad, so hand like before the accident will not. But I will be able to drive, operate the buttons on the steering wheel, here is we can be calm. Besides, we are not talking about a pianist, does not have to do so accurate and precise movements as a musician.

Interviewed by Adam Malecki, Polish Radio Third Program

Mr. Adam also gave me information that next week will be his interlocutor manager Robert Kubica, Daniele Morell. Worth today to reserve some free time on Sunday afternoon.Broadcast "The third side of the coin" is broadcast every Sunday at 17:00. Probably many of you have forgotten how to "look" radio program, so it will be an occasion to remember.

Indeed. Where that guard rail ended up could have been much, much worse.

My head tells me that he can't come back from that accident, but I'm just thankful he's alive and will probably recover well enough to live a relatively normal life.

How is Kubica more proven?
At the moment is more unproven than perez. He needs to prove he will be able to pilot an F1 car.
He needs to be able to play piano on those paddle shifters. Activate DRS and KERs for 60 laps, tear off a visor strip, use his thumb to plug the champagne bottle so it can spray.
Ferrari will look at all of this. For perez now, it's just a matter if he's slower than Alonso. He doesn't have any other unknowns outside of his speed and his loyalty to team orders.
For Sure!!

According to Kubica's surgeon, he says that Robert is ready for F1. Last week he stated that the driver would need 'months', but seems like the tables have turned amid speculations of him being replaced.

From today's copy of Autosport
ROBERT KUBICA IS INCREASINGLY likely to be fit to return to Formula 1 in 2012, according to the Pole’s doctor, Riccardo Ceccarelli.
Renault team principal Eric Boullier insists that he needs to know in a matter of weeks whether the 26-year-old will be fit for the start of next year’s pre-season testing on February 7.
“Step by step, everything has improved and the chance of seeing him driving at the start of 2012 is becoming more concrete,” Ceccarelli told Italian TV station Lucca. “He will still need a few more months of rehabilitation.”
Renault is still waiting for Kubica to be fit enough to try an F1 simulator, which will be the first step towards him getting back behind the wheel of a grand prix car. Once he has done that, Renault will allow him some running in a 2009 car
to continue his rehabilitation.

same thing over and over from this guy.
who's this doctor? Valentino Rossi in disguise? Cause he doesn't seem to be so good at gving good medical predictions.
You would think Robert was going to give the doc 10% of his earnings if he gets a seat in 2012.

I think this is a classic example of journalists interpreting things in their own way when they experience problems with the language barriers.

Let's wait for Robert Kubica to make an official statement. I know it's hard not to listen to all these "speculations"...

I think it'd be good if Kubica took a camera, told us how he feels and posted that on youtube. All these speculations...

I wonder if he still has the pace. F1 cars have changed and so did he. Whether he can wiggle his toes or not... his body changed.

I used to be pretty good at skateboarding. Didn't do this for 2-3 years, and my body changed (gained weight, 15kg). Now I stand on a deck like some-one who had never been on a skateboard.

And THEN take in account, F1 is very different to skateboards.

I'd say Kubica should have some fun in GP2 first to get used to racing again. Pick up the old habbit.
