Williams FW33

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

He started on the back row because he didn't take any part in qualifying. He didn't get a penalty because his new engine was within the allowance and before qualifying.

Maldonado got a 10 place penalty for using a 9th engine, so he was at the very back.
I am pretty sure I read/heard Barrichello took this opportunity to mount freely his 9th engine. Maybe why he thought Barrichello started at the end because of a penalty..

That qnbwiliams domain is someone trying to make cash. It's owned by a chap called Patrick Unegg in Klagenfurt who has 4 domains:

http://whois.domaintools.com/qnbwilliams.com
http://whois.domaintools.com/qnbwilliamsf1.com
http://whois.domaintools.com/qnbwilliamsrenault.com
http://whois.domaintools.com/www.stadtkraemer.com/

All registered at the address for this bar http://www.stadtkraemer.com/

Here's his twitter account http://twitter.com/#!/uneggp

.. and he has a Williams logo on his facebook page http://de-de.facebook.com/people/Patric ... 1962920245

Looks like a fan trying to get some cash by grabbing a domain name that can be sold to the team.

There is also http://www.williamsrenault.com that claims to be a fan site with a video of Frank Williams and an old Williams Renault in the background. Then you see it was created on 2 August this year. That owner is associated with 25 other domains, I've not checked them all(it requires a fee) but I wonder if there are any Williams variants on that list? I've found 6, the last one is interesting!

A little bit of encouragement after Abu Dhabi - Barichello did really well to make up 12 places - perhaps if he didn't receive his 10 place grid penalty he may have ended up in the points.
Am I missing something? Rubens did not have a 10 place grid penalty. He just did not have a car to qualify in, andd so had to start from the back of the grid.
But it is relatively easy for a mid field car to make up places from the back. Dismiss the six slow cars, add in the retirals, and you will find that Rubens only made up two or three genuine places.
No you're right, just had my drivers mixed up there

To me it looks like the exhaust is aiming at the rear wing.

What are those chunks mounted on the outside of the endplates?? Same level as the main plane.

Temp sensors??

Wow. Are we going to see exhaust pipes protruding that much next year, or is that only a temporary version just to test the effects on the diffuser?

I think that curent rules prevent protruding exahausts; IIRC ferrari had to made a quick modification on that before the beginning of the 2009 season.

My bet is that they're like that so that they can quickly fit different ends pointing them in different directions and test what the effect is.

Exactly! This is just quick exhaust layup to explore gas flow efect under the wing and how that efect on whole rear end of the car!

I doubt! Maybe is some sort measuring device for preasure, flow speeds, (or like you sad temp.)!

I guess that on the one side is some sort of transmitter and on the other side is recevier (order is depend left or right)? Maybe who know if is may guess right? Actually exsist some sort that sensors?
