when Sutil spun in qualifying, i noticed it was a combination of getting off the asphalt and the ARW flipping up at that exact time, and i'm wondering if that maybe one of the reasons why it seems more cars are missing corners, which could make an interesting race tommorow/today.

This idea just came to me, but I'm not sure if it is actually legal according to the DRS regs, can someone enlighten me?

This is a photo of the R30 at last years Italian GP. Renault used this rear wing with the little "spikes" on top to pass the minimum width rule on the chord of the rear wing. I was wondering if this principle could be applied to the DRS flap, in order to make the chord of the flap shorter, thus decreasing the amount of drag, thus giving the car a higher top speed.

Legal, Hispania used that loophole at Montreal, Spa and Monza this year already. Id expect them to use this in Brazil as well.

I think DRS will be exploited more next year if the decide to use it next year, as its still undecided, i think they will use it, but i think the sporting regs will be changed as the drivers have been bitching all season about the 1 second gap thing.

I know Vettel wants to make DRS have more of a strategy element where drivers have X-many pushes per race and can use it to attack a driver later in the race who may not have many DRS activations left in him and the persuer may have 20 or so to use in the last 8 to 10 laps if the drivers were to allowed 50 uses per race.

One other thing that will also be looked at is the 2 lap thing as many also belive that after lap 1 is completed they should have DRS, and after a SC period it should only be one lap after that thet a driver has to wait for DRS to become active.

Slightly digressing, but I believe some drivers are also putting forward the motion of only allowing DRS use in the DRS activation zone in quali.

I would support that change. If the cars are only going to use DRS in the specified zones in the race, then why do they let the drivers use DRS everywhere in qualifying and practice? I'm surprised their setup isn't affected when they use DRS all through practice and qualifying.

That's one way to look at it. It would also make race and qualifying pace closer. On the other hand it does benefit those who have been less daring with their DRS activation - prime examples would be Schumacher and Webber
