Id value Hispania a little less than €50m, probably arround the €40m mark, as for Virgin, their value is now arround the €75m mark now.

As for buying a team, all fine and well, but for getting P10 in the Constructors Title for year 1 you get arround €20m and if you comne P10 or higer for two or more consecuitive years you then get €34.5m prise money. If you are in the 2 non prize money places you will get arround €8.5m freight costs given to you, and no cash.

So it really pays for a young rick guy to buy a seat, as if he shines the chances of him moving up the grid will get him into a faster car and his sponsors will come with. Pretty much a double plus for many teams.

Charls Pic is reputedly paying Marussia €21m for a seat in 2012, Karthekeyn was paying via TATA €1m a race in 2011, €500,000 would be paid uppon qualification with another simmilar ammount paid uppon him placing ahead of his team mate. The €21.5m TATA/Karthekeyn deal was gonna be huge, however after only earning 8 Qualis and 3 placings, it earnt Hispania just €5.5m in Performance Payments and the initial €2.5m in cash from TATA, hence why when Riccardo came allong with €10m from Red Bull they snatched at it. As it was good money for Hispania in the bank, and when it came to getting them to the end of the season €10m was gonna do it and then some. Liuzzi was to take part in the Indian GP, but another payment came from Red Bull for this race to give Riccardo another race in the car. Id rather take the money from Red Bull than TATA personally.

When you put a Young driver day cost into comparison this is where it gets really whacky, it was reported that Leimer, Checcon, Colletti, Checcotto Jr and Charuz all paid somewhere in the region of €350,000 to €600,000 for a day or two in a car, Charuz deal at Hispania was €600,000 for a day in the car to get his 1A licence then to take place in FP1 at Brazil as well. Checcon and Coletti each pais STR €450,000 for a day and a half in the STR6, and Leimer paid Sauber €400,000 for a seat for a day in the C31.

This is another reason that some teams want Testing back, as the young guys will pay stupid money for a test seat, just in the off chance a team may see something and then ditch a race driver for a them.

Id recon that if Bruno can come up with €15m id take him, he is more than two-thirds of the way there already, so id be prepaired to give him a seat. However there is another unknown in the Senna-Williams mix ill add, if Lotus Renault GP were to have him as a TD, but also racing for Williams next year, if something dosnt wok out with Kimi or Romain, its easy to get him into the Renault as he is race sharp. And if Lotus were to pay the €8m minimum that Williams will be paying Renault for the RS27 power next year, thats your €21m that would secure a seat right there.

When Sutil has just €8m to spend from Medion and Capri Sun, i know who id choose if i needed the money. Also Medion are owned by Lenovo now, who left Williams in bad spirit by terminationg their contract 3 years early so they could sponsor McLaren for more money and less exposure. I doubt that Sutiil will be at Williams next year. If anything id recon that Senna will be there, if not Senna, id recon that Petrov or even Glock have a better chance as if Marussia want Petrov in their car, they may have to buy Glock the Williams seat for the remaining 2 years of his contract.

On a less serious note, I'm really happy for Grosjean getting signed by Lotus Renault but I really hope that this time he gives up his job in the bank in Geneva.

In 2009 he refused to do so and would go in to work at the bank in a suit and tie after the racing weekend.
How does he manage to race, work in the bank and still have time for rigorous training?

I wonder if Boullier will force him to quit, it's surely better to have him just concentrating on racing.
You've got to admire the guy for being such a hard worker but really I think he should concentrate on F1 - he has a potentially great career ahead of him with a salary most of us can only dream of!

Talking of salaries, has there been any news on how much Lotus Renault are paying Raikkonen? - is it a multi or just a one year deal?

Really? imo he's a "has been" and wasted his opportunity at Renault and doesnt deserve another shot - Senna imo is far more deserving as he did a great job despite having very little actual F1 experience and really showed up Petrov!

Frankly Senna really surprised me, I didnt rate him at all till this year but imo he proved he has the right stuff to make it in F1! He also seems to be a genuinely likeable fellow as well which never hurts.

Grosjean wasn't too bad. No testing, malhandling car, and he was around 3 tenths off Alonso. His first qualifying session, Valencia Q1, he was only about a tenth off Alonso.

So it seems that Alguersuari will not be joining HRT in 2012. Now the article doesn't clearly state who turned out the offer. Alguersuari OR Red Bull (as he is under their contract).
Sala, a former Minardi driver, admitted he was surprised to hear Red Bull's bad news.
...and the plot thickens. With Alguersuari not going to HRT, gives me the impression that he may be joining Red Bull as their Reserve for 2012.

His race in Brazil was poor however.

If so, another door closes for Sutil. But id be happy to give Senna another year as Hispania was a year that was a washout for team and driver, the car was poor and he just couldnt show what he could do. As for the half season at Lotus Renault GP, that was a baptism of fire, he was thrown in cold to a poor car in comparison to what was out there and what he was racing against.

That just leaves the vacant seat at Hispania that has a list up to your Uncle and my Uncle to race for them, and the the unsecure seat at Caterham that Trulli is in, rumor has it that Petrov is in there.

What makes you think that? Both of them are brilliant drivers is just that they are not provided the car with the performance

Too bad sutil.
Much better driver than Senna. But it's not the first time something like this has happened before. Money talks man.
Sutil's best bet is to be third driver for a big team with a weak second driver.
That more than likely will be ferrari.
Or even Mercedes. But i feel shumacher will keep extending his contract.

I figure Senna in a williams will be marketed as unfinished business, or what could have been.
Williams with 2 south american drivers will also be a big hit in south america. In fact it opens the doors for investments and sponsors from S. America.
For Sure!!

I was much more impressed by Bruno during 2011 than I was by Pastor : I can see Maldonado being humbled by Senna, though I can't see this pairing pushing the team forwards in the development race.
