A grid full of these can't be good.

The Ferrari takes the ugly prize so far.
FOTA's way of ripping Bernie off...

I just can imagine:

Dominecali - I like-aahhh da nos to be uuuhgly

Horner - Yes Stefano that would tick Bernie off... (snicker)

Whitmarsh - I think we can agree on that (FOTA President) *mallet slam*

Pull rods at the front?!?
Seeing the angle of those rods on the front shots, I can't understand what benefit(s) they expect from this setup...

This nose looks like a bike seat! The CT-01 or VJM-05 are less ugly!
How about put a player on nose and play F-1 Polo?

Well the wheelbase looks quite short. Nowhere near as long as Mclaren or RBR last year.

Is it a SWB car??

How can the exhausts appear to point down? The rules dictate they point between 10 and 30 degrees upwards (angle measured parallel to the reference plane).

Does anyone fancy photo shopping the "exhaust tubes" off like has been done with the McLaren then we can really see how tight the rear packaging is.

Some other observations:

McLaren side pods appear more undercut, might be slightly narrower tho'

Unusual roll hoop arrangement (no hoop but a vertical strut)

Sidepods point to the car centreline.

Beam wing and rear crash structure are integrated, so they can't be blowing it with the central cooling hole like McLaren do

Giorgio Piola was wrong !!

Can't really be done, because they've reduced the side pods to a plane at the back rather than a point.

I'd have to agree with that.

Huh? It has a roll hoop – it's just McLaren's air intake arrangement from last year.

Sorry if it's already been explained elsewhere, but can anyone explain what the rules are which result in this nose?

3.7.9 No bodywork situated more than 1950mm forward of rear face of the cockpit entry template may be more than 550mm above the reference plane.

Definitely pull rod front.
Most definitely ugly

BTW I meant that the ferrari pods look narrower, McLaren seemed to go closer to the floor edge.

Last year Ford sued them to change the name - does anyone have Alain Prost's lawyer's email address to hand? :wtf:

The top surface of the side pod seems to do the same lean in that the McLaren's does – I wonder if that was the sane route to evolve U-pods into.

There is a huge amount to take in with the design of this car. Wow!

Are they using the exhaust to draw hot air out of the sidepods?

The airbox cover seems very, very slim.

I mean that there isn't a conventional hoop with a pair of struts under the air intake. Instead the roll hoop structure must be entirely encased within the bodywork.
There is a very thin vertical strut in the middle and unlike other teams no air intake below the main engine intake.
