Going off topic here; but I didn't like him in interviews last year either. He would get involved in an incident and start schooling the journalist that "that's F1. It happens." as if he was an F1 veteran. He needs to know his place.

An educted guess is that Pastor Maldonado comes from an influential family with access to Hugo Chavez oil-money tap,
which means they have Williams' financial health by the balls, why he can afford to talk whatever nonsense he wants?

A lot of F1 drivers have money, but PM has money and power (a close associate of Hugo Chávez) this should be expected. Maldonado is an outspoken political figure, which is strange in the racing world. He considers himself a socialist.

Well there is always a doubt about Lotus' financing so in the future in something bad happens he can hope in to be a pay driver there although I think ideally they would want 2 Good drivers.

The Top 4 & Force India are unlikely to go for pay drivers. Same with Torro Rosso, its more like a Red Bull Training Academy. So that leaves Pastor Williams,Sauber,HRT & Virgin. Possibly Carteham if they want to dump Truli to get a Pay Driver.

I'm sure HRT & Virgin are ready to suck up to Pastor. He knows he could buy both of their seats for himself.

Considering that 15-20 years ago, FW was no stranger to fire a newly crowned WDC if he considered him out of line,
I wonder how he feels about being the subject of the well-willing from the likes of Hugo Chavez and his clan?

F1 should preemptively distance themselves from anything like that IMHO. As long as he doesn't try to use F1 as a political platform I'm ok having hime here though.(But he has a wierd voice.)
