Ha! We're just a big bunch of pundit pundits.
I'm just going off great info I read from him about car watching in Canada. It made my weekend far better than if I had picked a random spot, like the hairpin. It also saved me a _lot_ of walking which my rather large camera bag was heavily against.

USF1 aside, I like Windsor and his passion. Like me, he often misspeaks so I guess I relate.

Anyone know what the weather has in store for tomorrow?

I followed @eason for a little while(The Times F1 reporter) And literally the fluffy BS this guy posted had me reaching for the paper bag.
Shame as The Times is a very good paper in general.

I told him what I thought of his tripe and he got the right hump! Properly cried like a little baby!

Tweeting rubbish like
"met Hembrey, in good spirits"

No insight, no nothing. Just BS fleet street journo tripe. I think guys like Scarbs and F1enigma ought to have a bigger platform than they currently do, especially with numpties like @eason around. And also becuase information is vital at this stage of the season. Who has what, analysis etc etc. Not very many good guys about doing it.
Id never heard off f1Enigma before so just checked his blog. Guess what... hes linked to peter windsor and scarbs too who also appears on Peter Windsors excellent flying lap program all the time giving him the "platform" you correctly say he should get.
I loved reading Peters notes from testing http://peterwindsor.com/2012/02/08/note ... z-testing/. Its a pretty unique insite and we should be thankful for this extra source of information.

A game of poker or real concern?
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

@Bgroovers

I hated Jonathan Ross but he did have some fabulous guests, Scarbs etc are guests on Peter Windsor's show. Im not an expert all things Peter Windsor, but he does make some quite unusual predictions and comments.
In fairness I like his enthusiasm, and he always wants to know more. A good thing.
Kevin Eason however, likes to brag about whom he is having tea with in the midst of a busy Testing session. Here's a guy paid to write about F1, tweeting "anything happen while I was away?" #-o

If like me, you like to get cutting stories there are genuinely very few good outlets.
You quickly begin to see whom copies who when you read twitter(cough*Eason*cough).
During testing I like to get it first hand, not regurgitated by some nit wit who likes to add some spin to it.

With testing upon us, getting the informed opinion is what matters. I guess it boils down to personal preference. But when Ferrari are allegedly not happy with their car, Mercedes conducting F-duct front wing tests, Mclaren burning its floor through exhaust gas exposure(naughty naughty 8) ), Red Bull with a host of interesting features and Lotus Renault seemingly bang on the pace....I really dont want to hear some bloated journo crap off for england about his amazing social network and provide me with the square root of bugger all.

I follow Peter windsor for what is worth, but I still dont think hes more than a popcorn commentator :)
Go on Twitter, give those names I mentioned a go, you will see how "alive" testing sessions become.
If you already follow them my apoolgies :D
More could have been done.

And my favorite hobby horse - how he says that you should always keep the car straight on the exit so that the engine can be "drained of g-load." If the corner entry was at the other side of the track, ideally according to him you'd move to the braking zone some 100 or so meters before the corner (i.e. stay right for everything except the last 100m; in corners such as Parabolica/Catalunya Turn 10).

Oh, and how he seems to think that the harder the tyres you put on the car; the more equalized cars are.

You are all forgetting the greatest source of information... the mole!

Back to testing... It seems from tedkravitz that LH thinks Lotus and RB are ahead on high speed downforce again...

Just wanna say it's a funny feeling catching up with pre-season testing. One side of your heart is excited about who's doing what and looking better at the tests, the other side tells you "those things will probably change a great deal come the first race".

I think the only real pre-season surprise that actually got confirmed at races were Brawn (obviously I've only been following F1 for 10 years...).

But main thing is the ability to develop. Big teams like Ferrari and McLaren can pull off a major change to go up one step between pre-season and the first race, whereas guys like Sauber in the midfield must come up with a very good baseline to have any chance of challenging the guys ahead. Safe to say, for these teams the testing reveal more of their true potential than the bigger ones.

Everybody's saying Ferrari's got a great deal of trouble, but last year McL had a great deal of trouble as well and they were top three in the first race.

Thankfully we got sites like this to give some technical color to the "uneducated" like myself, so even though things can change come Oz, it's still a lot of fun following testing.

Yes; but false, inaccurate journalism can be a very dangerous thing - people might actually believe you're saying the truth

Lotus ahead on high downforce? :?

Wow... that's saying quite a bit methinks. Having said that; McLaren have gone quite a bit different than they have in the last 2 years in terms of how they generate high speed downforce hasn't it? In terms of side pods and how the airflow leads from there to the rear wing.

Alright ladies and gents, its officially 1 hour and 45 minutes until the last testing session at Jerez begins.

Any bets to hedge, who will do what? who will do nothing?

Any new parts, perhaps more rubbery components from the exploitation and *we don't cheat* experts (Do i need to make it anymore clearer who it is ;))

As a Ferrari fan i think our car will set on fire and will need to be extinguished as we have a Greek guy designing an Italian car, see what happens when the Greeks go broke! :/ *dry sense of humour*

I guess Ferrari will still continue with their data accumulation procedure. As Fry suggested yesterday, they have a huge matrix of configurations to test for. Hence I really don't think they will unleash the monster (Alonso obviously :D) today..
