Strong sources are saying that PANTANO (and a huge bag of money) will be the second Jordan driver.
Let's wait and see...

I wouldn't go as far as to say he was a waste of time.Firman won every other championship he contested, and last years Jordan wasn't exactly car of the year.Add to this Fissi as your team mate and a poor knowledge of the circuits one might very well seem a "waste of time" in comparison. As for Patano,he was F3000 runner up in '02,and it looks like EJ is still searching for the next big thing.Personally i would have gone for Allan McNish!

I agree, lets hope Mcnish gets the seat. Sorry but new circuits excuse doesn't wash, these guys are supposed to be the best drivers in the world, so Firman should be able to learn a new track by Friday night. Plenty other drivers have managed it. Perhpas he should have got himself a PS2!

I see your point but you can know your way around a circuit without knowing how to get 100% out of it.There's always something to learn! :)

He should go for Alex Wurz.

That woud guarantee him some sponsorship for 2004 increasing his budget and also would certainly guarantee Mercedes engines and possibly an MP4/19 chassis for 2005.

Write it, Jordan is the Mclaren Jr team of the future

you may be right rodlamas, about Jordan being the new mclaren/mercedes B-team

that would mean Wurz in 2005 though, and they need a nice little cashcow in 2004

JosVerstappen would have brought about 7 million euro's but wanted one and a half million as a salary which would mean that anyone bringing more than 5.5 million euro would be in the picture!

This could be good for McLaren. Ferrari already has Sauber as thier so called "B" team which help them during the testing in Grand Prix weekends to provide more information on tires and chasis set-up, why not McLaren go for it too, except the part that Wurz doesn't bring much money to the team.

I don´t think Pantano is a good choice. He might be able to bring millions and millions for Jordan but he´s got almost no experience of Formula 1. And teams have no more than 2 or 3 weeks of test before Oz.

If I were Jordan, Iwould get Wurz. The reasons are simple: since before the Christian Klien announcement at Jag, Wurz was being quoted as getting there. And this was just possible because ha had got the money. Further more, he has got a hell of expirence testing a very good car and this is going to be very useful to help Jordan at looking ate certain areas to improve its EJ14. And also, this would clear the way for Mclaren in 2005 for having a new B team, and possibly putting David Coulthard there.

That´s why I think for Jordan Wurz is a better choice than any of the drivers available.

The question is if Alex Wurz WANTS to drive for a team like Jordan.

Probably not

But there have been lots of rumours like "Wurz doesn´t fit in the MP4/19" and "Wurz would like to drive in 2004".

We shall wait and see because for me it is clear that in 2005 Jordan will become a mclaren B team as minardi will become renault B.
