Looks like you went in the opposite direction to me with the Engine cover , I started with a Sharkfin and have gone to traditional, you started with traditional and have gone to a Sharkfin
Nice work though :D

Its quite amusing, Its allright, whats your reasons for going to the sharkfin?

Its a lot easier to add onto my car plus i can changed the exit around for different races/temperatures and i its quiet slim so it allows more room for more air to the rear wing :)

I see, I took it away for structural reasons

I wouldn't say it allows more air to the rear wing, in fact you could even say it is somewhat limiting to airflow. But is perhaps more for a directional and vortex generating purpose. However any benefits are negligible.

remember, this is what he thinks, your car may benefit from one, none of us know truely without CFD

That what i was thinking, i did read something one of the f1 designers said and they said having it will benefit the air to the rear wing :)

It can also disturb it due to flapping around, it depends how structurally sound you can make it, with Formula Sketch lets assume its structurally strong, then it should benefit, however in real life I doubt the advantages of it for structural reasons :D

But thats what I think, your car may benefit, mine may not, none of us will know without CFD , so if you like this direction of development, keep it :)

A slight bit of flutter could be beneficial in vortex generation to the rear wing, energising the airflow.

I have seen images of them fluttering, and I was concerned of more drag and more disturbed flow rather than a clean vortex
